A Tesla Cybertruck Slices in Half a Deer While Driving 75 Mph on the Freeway. Despite The Heavy Damage, The Turo Rental Cybertruck Continues for 60 More Miles on FSD

A Tesla Cybertruck traveling in a convoy of other Cybertrucks hits a deer while driving 75 miles per hour. The truck's sharp corners slice the deer in half, but despite the heavy damage, the Cybertruck continues for 60 miles on FSD.

A new video shared on X shows the fallout after a Cybertruck traveling 75 miles an hour hit a deer on the freeway.

According to the X user (Bearded Tesla) who filmed the aftermath, not only was the deer instantly killed, but the buck was tragically sliced in half by the Cybertrukc’s sharp corners.

The Cybertruck was similarly damaged; however, given the circumstances, it appears the truck held up relatively well.

Unlike what most people thought initially, despite filming the aftermath video, Bearded Tesla, a Tesla online influencer and Cybertruck owner, was not behind the wheel when the accident occurred.

The vehicle in question was part of a Cybertruck convoy traveling to Boca Chica, Texas, to watch SpaceX’s upcoming Starship rocket flight.

Bearded Tesla with his matt black Cybertruck was traveling behind the exposed stainless steel Cybertruck, which sliced the deer in half.

According to the YouTube and X creator, the Cybertruck that caused the accident was rented on Turo by “a couple of German guys” who came down to see the SpaceX rocket launch.

Although the Cybertruck held up well following the accident, it did not escape the crash unscathed. The front bumper that hit the deer is decimated; the driver-side headlight is shattered into pieces; the hood is warped; the driver-side front facia is dented; and the front fender is torn into pieces.

Overall, the whole front of the vehicle is held together by a rope. The impact also reverberated back, damaging the A-pillar and surrounding structures.

Following the accident, the Cybertruck doors would not open, so the driver had to leave the vehicle through the passenger side.

Overall, the Cybertruck is in bad shape; however, according to Bearded Tesla, the German guys not only drove the vehicle following the accident but also traveled 60 miles more using Tesla’s full self-driving software (FSD).

The Tesla influencer shared a video of the aftermath of the accident, writing…

“Cybertruck vs. Deer at 75 MPH

This thing drove on FSD after this, too.”

Bearded Tela also shared an almost 3 minutes video going over the accident and showing the damage to the Cybertruck.

Here is what he said in the video…

“So what happens when a deer and a Cybertruck come together at about 75 miles per hour? Let’s take a look…

Sadly, I don’t have zip ties, so this is the best we’re going to be able to tie up the parts to limp the Cybertruck, at least to where we can get it towed. But oh man, the crash support on the front did a really good job doing what it’s supposed to do. It has collapsed here on the corner, and obviously, a lot of the plastic pieces just got obliterated.

Interestingly, as tight as the area between the front bumper and the hood is, a piece of the deer went straight into the headlight, so the headlight is gone. We had to rip some of that out as you kind of can see here. And here on the hood is where the back half of the deer is. I guess his rear end hit right here.

I’ll try not to show too much of the gory stuff, but the sharp front corner is really where most of that impact happened. It sliced it in half right here, and the impact was so strong that it pushed the fender back. We can’t get the door open, so it’s a matter of climbing through on the passenger side.

Some plastic pieces, certainly the inside of the front wheel well, the fender and fender flare, the whole front hood, the front bumper, the frame support, and the headlight, are damaged.

At 75 miles an hour, it is not bad on damage, but it took a heck of a beating. I see the stainless steel panel covering the A-pillar has come loose, actually, yeah, I’m going to try to push this back in as best as I can to prevent some of the rain from getting in there, but it looks like it peeled back the A pillar there too so, yikes.”

An hour after his original video, Bearded Tesla returns with an update. This time, the Cybertruck that hit the deer is parked charging at a supercharger station.

The Tesla content creator says even after the damage it took, the Cybertruck was driven another 60 miles from the site of the accident. Not only that, the Cybertruck was driven exclusively using Tesla’s FSD software.

Bearded Tesla continues his video, saying…

“Just a quick little update for you: it’s been about an hour or so. We’re about 60 miles away from where the accident happened. This truck was on full self-driving driving the whole way from there to here. Even after an accident that will total almost all vehicles on the road, still full self-driving works.

Absolutely incredible! The Cybertruck is bomb-proof—apparently on the inside and outside—and can we call it deer-proof, too?”

A deer sliced in half by the Cybertruck’s sharp corners is scary and raises concerns about what would happen if the truck hits a pedestrian on the road.

Also, there are questions about whether it is a good idea to drive a Tesla that has experienced a major accident for another 60 miles while relying on FSD.

Looking at the comments, a lot of people wanted Bearded Tesla to share the Cybertruck’s dashcam footage showing the moment of the accident; however, he says that it’s too graphic.

People were also wondering whether the Cybertruck was on FSD during the accident. Bearded Tesla says no but adds that the German guys had to disable the software because a camera was occluded.

Interestingly, FSD was not working before the accident. However, it started working again after running into a deer at 75 mph.

Overall, Tesla fans are celebrating the whole situation by pointing out how well the Cybertruck held up following the accident. However, please let me know what you think in the comments. What do I think?
Screw any kind of self-driving and every person who selfishly and lazily chooses to engage it.
Worse yet is Tesla FSD, compared to other self driving tech.
