With the launch of the new F-Type, XF, XJ and the XK lineups Jaguar has captured the hearts of Americans again and has the internet and forums all a buzz about what Jaguar might do next. If the recent news at the LA Auto Show is any indication, Jaguar is just getting started bringing us new and exciting products including the AWD F-Type in 2016.
The Jaguar brand set new global sales records in 2013 with 425,000 delivers World-wide and that was over double what they did in 2010. The Jaguar Land Rover brand has achieved this success with only a third the size company of their German competitors (BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz). Sales are already up 11% in 2014 and with even more vehicle introductions and new plants being built, I don’t see any slowdown from the brand. Current sales of the F-Type are up a whopping 78.4% through October according to WardsAuto data.
As we get closer to the launch of the new XE sedan (a BMW M-3 sized sedan) in early 2016, Jaguar should gain more of the mainstream sales. The new plant just opened in China will produce three Jaguar Land Rover models by 2016. The new XE will feature an Ingenium low-emissions diesel engine and its part of the brands move to go greener. Andy Goss (group sales-operations director/Jaguar Land Rover) said of the plans moving forward “We have other game-changing powertrains that we can’t quite talk about yet”. But you can bet that Jaguar will continue to push the technology train in the right direction.
Also Goss said “Our stock turn in the States at the moment is quite incredible and we’d like to get a supply of more vehicles in the marketplace”. Jaguar has promised “50 significant product actions over the next five years” and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
What I’m saying about Jaguar is over the next 4 to 5 years we will witness more excitement and groundbreaking technology that will keep Jaguar in front of the competitors. I also feel that “Jaguar is Back” and they are going to like it at the top and find ways to stay there!
