Audi Australia has given the force an S7 Sportback for 12 months. It will be used by NSW Police as a promotional vehicle for community and youth engagement programs. We're sure a few officers would like to take this on a hot pursuit. Who can blame them as the S7 packs 450 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8. Paired with quattro all-wheel drive, the S7 can hit 62 mph in less than five seconds. But Audi wants to have the S7 back in one piece when the 12 months is up.
The cool part about this S7 is that Audi held a design contest to design a livery for it last year. The livery seen here was the winner with almost 800 people voting for it on Audi Australia's Facebook page.
“The Audi S7 Sportback provides an exciting and visible platform for our community and youth engagement activities. Our use of the S7 Sportback will encourage people of all ages to introduce themselves to local police, using the car itself to help start up a conversation,” said Superintendent Zoran Dzevlan, Commander of Lake Illawarra LAC in a statement.
This isn't the first notable loan the NSW Police force has gotten. In the past year, the NSW police force has gotten an Audi RS4 and a Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe.
