Bentley will be introducing a new Flying Spur model called the V8 S that is being positioned as the model for the driver. The twin-turbo 4.0L V8 has been tweaked to bump power from 500 horsepower and 487 pound-feet to 521 and 502 respectively. Despite the increase in power, Bentley says fuel economy is drastically affected.
Along with the increase in power, the Flying Spur V8 S gets unique transmission mapping, rear-biased all-wheel drive system, and changes to the suspension that promises a "more focused, precise driving experience.” The exterior features a new black grille insert, twenty-inch open-spoke painted wheels, and a rear diffuser to reflect its sporting nature.
“The Flying Spur remains unrivaled in its ability to combine class-leading comfort with remarkable dynamic ability. It’s the perfect choice for the customer who wants ultimate refinement as well as an exhilarating, spirited drive,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors in a statement.
Bentley will show off the Flying Spur V8 S next month in Geneva. Deliveries to customers begin sometime this summer.
