A fourm member of the Bobaedream forums caught a group of Korean Domestic Market (KDM) version of the Elantra - known as Avante - that are different from the standard model. As CarScoops notes, the Avantes shown have lowered suspension, new bumpers, rear diffuser, and large front ducts. The interior looks to be sporty with red and black fabric.
We know from our report back in February that the Elantra Sport will feature a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder producing an estimated 200 horsepower. The Sport will also get a retuned front suspension, bigger brakes, and larger wheels.
"We have not really had a (Honda Civic) Si type of product before. We have had Sport models among the Elantras, but this is a completely different vehicle," said Hyundai Motor America CEO Dave Zuchowski.
It is expected that Hyundai will show the Elantra Sport at the SEMA show in November.
