Dodge had such a successful run with its 2023 ‘Last Call’ Challengers and Chargers that it is using the same formula with phasing out its HEMI-powered Dodge Durango SUVs. Dodge is launching a yearlong celebration of the huge horsepower SUVs starting with the Special-edition Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI. The 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is the first of a series of “Last Call” models that will commemorate the final year of V-8 HEMI engine production for Dodge Durango.
Details on additional Durango “Last Call” special-edition models, including vehicles based on the Durango SRT Hellcat, will be announced throughout 2024. The Durango is not being phased out at this point, just the HEMI engine.
“Just as we did with the Dodge Charger and Challenger, it’s time to celebrate the V-8 HEMI engine that has powered Dodge domination of the performance SUV segment,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis. “Special-edition ‘Last Call’ models of the Durango will roll out during 2024 as we honor the most powerful SUV ever.”

2024 Dodge Durango Special-Editions Allocated to Dealers
Dodge is taking another page out of its Challenger and Charger playbook when it comes to making the Durango “Last Call” Editions available. It is allocating the Dodge Durango special-editions to certain dealers based on their sales. Customers can search for their preferred vehicle and check the dealer allocations via the Dodge Horsepower Locator at DodgeGarage.com starting in late February.
When We Will See the Special-Edition 2024 Durangos
Production of the 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI will begin in April, with vehicles arriving at available dealerships starting in May. Production of all V-8 HEMI-powered Dodge Durango models will wrap up at the end of 2024. The 710-horsepower Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is the most powerful SUV ever. It is powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine. There is also a Durango with a 5.7L HEMI. Both HEMI engines are being phased out at the end of 2024. Ram truck models are getting an even more powerful inline 6 engine, but Dodge hasn’t announced what the new engine will be for the Durango. It would make sense that a version of that engine will power future SUVs.
The 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI package is available at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $3,595. The cost is in addition to the starting MSRP of the Dodge Durango SRT 392 premium model. The 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI will be built at the Detroit Assembly Complex — Jefferson, in Detroit, Michigan.
