Dodge Honors 20 Years of HEMI Engines with Special 2025 Durango Models

Dodge is phasing out its HEMI engines, but first it is releasing two super powerful special editions.

Dodge is marking the 20th Anniversary of HEMI-powered Dodge Durangos with two new special editions. The 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Silver Bullet and 2025 Durango 20th Anniversary R/T models can be ordered now at dealers. Buyers can also use Dodge’s Interactive Horsepower Locator tool at DodgeGarage.com to identify nearby dealers with Dodge Durango special-edition models in stock.

“The HEMI engine has fueled the Dodge Durango for 20 years, and the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 HEMI engine option transforms the Durango into the most powerful SUV ever,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge brand CEO – Stellantis. “The Dodge Durango and the HEMI engine form a powerful pair, and with this announcement, Dodge continues to deliver HEMI power to enthusiasts and families alike.”

The 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Silver Bullet

Many may not realize it, but the name Silver Bullet harkens back to a legendary 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX named the Silver Bullet. The car was known as the “King of Woodward Avenue” because it was never beaten in drag races on the famous road located just north of Detroit. Woodward was well known for featuring drive-in restaurants and drawing cruisers back in the 1960s and 1970s. Woodward also has stoplights at perfect quarter-mile intervals. Automotive engineers would also come out to test their latest engines and horsepower. The Silver Bullet reigned supreme and still is featured at automotive events.

The 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Silver Bullet includes Triple Nickel exterior paint, Satin Black painted hood, grey metallic SRT  badging, Lights Out finished 20-inch wheels and Ebony Red Nappa leather SRT seats.

The Silver Bullet does 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, covers the quarter mile in an elapsed time of 11.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 mph. The 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Silver Bullet carries the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine. It has paddles on the steering wheel for manual-style shifting and has seven available Drive modes – Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, Tow, Eco and Valet. SRT Performance Pages provide information on vehicle performance, including timers, g-force, gauges, engine and dyno readouts. According to Dodge, Configurable Drive Modes provide more vehicle control. The driver can activate, deactivate and adjust the rpm values for Launch Control and Shift Light features.
