Dodge is Now Taking Orders for its First EV Muscle Car- 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona

After two years of waiting, fans can finally order one of the new EV muscle cars. Deliveries should start before the end of the year.

Dodge has been talking about its revolutionary concept for an all-electric muscle car for at least two years, but today Dodge says it will start taking orders for the high-horsepower 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Dodge is also promising an exclusive Performance Experience for muscle car lovers who are first to sign up. The First Call package includes two-day performance driving experience at Radford Racing School, welcome kit and exclusive VIP concierge service for customers who place an order by October 31, 2024, and eventually take delivery.

“A new era of Dodge muscle has arrived,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge brand CEO – Stellantis. “We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries, and we know our customers are driven by performance, so customers who make the 'first call' by having their name on a sold order of the next-generation Dodge Charger by October 31, 2024, will receive a First Call experience loaded for performance, including a two-day driving experience at the Radford Racing School, a First Call welcome kit and custom VIP concierge service.”

2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV

I have been covering the development of this vehicle since it was announced. At some points it has been referred to as a 2024 model, or a 2025 model because the production timeline has been vague. The muscle cars that the Dodge Charger Daytona EV is replacing were HEMI-powered Challengers and Chargers phased out at the end of 2023.

When the Charger Daytona was officially unveiled in March, the then head of Dodge hailed the car as a new type of performance vehicle.

“The all-new, all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona delivers up to 670 horsepower and is expected to reach 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, retaining its title as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car. Plus, the performance car division of Stellantis will eventually have gas-powered models of the Dodge Charger that will have up to 550-horsepower.”

“The electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance and announces its presence through the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, while Hurricane engine-powered Dodge Charger SIXPACK models will give the Brotherhood of Muscle a gas option that produces better horsepower and torque numbers than the outgoing 5.7- and 6.4-liter HEMI engines,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis. “The next generation of Dodge muscle has arrived.”

When We Will See the Dodge Charger Daytona EVs in Dealers

According to Dodge, two-door coupe versions of Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack – the quickest and most powerful muscle car – will begin arriving in next-gen Charger Daytona-certified dealerships in the fourth quarter. The different versions of the new muscle car will debut in stages.

The First Call 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T two-door models launch with standard Direct Connection Stage 1 Upgrade installed at the factory, resulting in a total output of 496 horsepower and 404 lb.-ft. of torque.

The more powerful First Call Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack two-door models will include the Track Package and factory-installed Direct Connection Stage 2 Upgrade resulting in a total output of 670 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque. The Scat Pack reaches 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds while running the quarter-mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds. The Scat Pack version will preserve Dodge’s reputation as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car and delivering SRT levels of performance.

Dodge will also eventually sell the Charger Daytona with gas-powered engines.

Finding One of the New 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EVs

Customers can either choose from a pre-configured order already allocated to a Dodge Charger Daytona-certified dealer or head into a certified dealership to place a “sold” order in person.

Dodge will use its Horsepower Locator tool to help potential customers find dealers who will be receiving the new EV muscle cars. Customers can go to the Dodge Horsepower Locator tool on DodgeGarage.com to find Charger Daytona-certified dealers who will get the new Dodge Charger Daytona, or the dealer can help the customer place an order.

A new interactive Dodge Charger configurator on Dodge.com can help the potential buyer choose exterior colors, wheel and roof options and interiors. New 3D animation lets enthusiasts virtually open and close doors, turn headlights on and off, open and close the rear hatch, fold the second-row seats and open and close the frunk.

First Call Benefits

All 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona models include a choice of an at-home Level 2 charging station or $600 charge credits through Free2move Charge.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack two-door models will qualify for full $7,500 federal tax credit when leased or purchased.

Buyers will receive two days of performance driving instruction in the new Charger Daytona at the Radford Racing School in Chandler, Arizona, the official high performance driving school of Dodge//SRT.

Buyers will also be given help through the Dodge Charger Daytona VIP concierge to answer questions and help with customer needs, such as scheduling the Radford Racing School visit after taking delivery of their new muscle car.

Buyers will also receive a First Call welcome kit, including an official letter of authenticity documenting the vehicle as a First Call Dodge Charger Daytona.
