Get Ready for New 2022 Toyota Highlander Trim Level and Colors

If this week was not noteworthy enough in the world of Toyota news, 2022 Highlander steps up to the plate with news of its own.

Toyota has served up news this past week in many forms. A 2022 Tundra teaser video, two new 2022 Tacoma adventure-ready trims, and a 2022 Prius Nightshade.

And apparently Toyota is not done yet. Time for Highlander news.

2022 Highlander Bronze Edition

Announcing 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition. Time to learn a little more.

This new Highlander grade is available exclusively in hybrid form. No gasoline-only trims. It will be offered in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition is based on Highlander Hybrid XLE and pricing will be wedged between Highlander Hybrid XLE and Highlander Hybrid Limited.

So, what makes a Bronze Edition a Bronze Edition anyway?

Toyota Highlander Gets Bronzy

The foundation for Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition is the use of bronze accents both outside and inside the vehicle.

You will notice the 18-inch bronze wheels immediately. They should offer a bold contrast to the two color choices for Bronze Edition exterior paint. More on that later.

Inside the cabin is where you will see most of what makes Bronze Edition a Bronze Edition.

Look for SofTex seats with fabric inserts that will have bronze stitching and bronze accent stripes. This bronze stitching continues throughout the 2022 Highlander Bronze Edition interior.

There will be bronze illuminated door sills (those are cool looking by the way), along with bronze floor mats with a bronze cargo mat.

2022 Toyota Highlander Colors

Toyota offers the brand new 2022 Highlander Bronze Edition in two colors. Choose from either Wind Chill Pearl or Cement.

Cement color is new to Highlander and is exclusive to Bronze Edition. Wind Chill Pearl replaces Blizzard Pearl for the 2022 Highlander lineup.

2022 Highlander Bronze Edition Specs

Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors. It produces 243 net horsepower.

Drivers can expect up to 36 miles per gallon combined.

The best thing about the all-wheel drive (AWD) system is that it only operates when needed. 2022 Highlander Hybrid AWD drives in front-wheel drive only during normal conditions. However, an additional separate rear-mounted electric motor sends power to the back wheels to provide optional conditions when driving in snow, mud, sand and rain.

The best of both worlds.

Other 2022 Toyota Highlander Features

Bronze Edition has plenty of features for passengers including hands-free power liftgate, digital rearview mirror, 10-way power driver seats with memory seat function, rain-sensing wipers, 1500W power outlet, in-dash ambient lighting and LED-strip daytime running lights.

2022 Highlander Bronze Edition price

No word on pricing yet for 2022 Toyota Highlander grades. MSRP should be between Highlander Hybrid XLE and Highlander Hybrid Limited.

Pricing for 2022 Highlander should be slightly higher than 2021 (not sure what that means, but it is almost always more from year to year).

A 2021 Highlander Hybrid XLE FWD has a factory MSRP of $41,535 and AWD is $43,135.

Highlander Hybrid Limited FWD starts at $45,490, while Hybrid Limited AWD begins at $47,440.
