2023 Toyota Highlander Release Date
If you have been looking out for word on either 2023 Highlander or 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, I have some information for you.
Plan for October time frame as a pretty solid estimate for 2023 Highlander release date. If the production gods work in our favor, we should start seeing them arriving at Toyota dealerships in that range.
Of course, with the ongoing vehicle shortage affecting just about all manufacturers and regions, it is challenging to specifically guess inventory levels and supplies of Highlander or Highlander Hybrid.
2023 Highlander Changes
Toyota Audio Multimedia system is new for 2023 Toyota Highlander. Big multimedia touch screens. Fast command times. Wireless Apple CarPlay. Wireless Android Auto. Much more.
Screen sizes will be up to 12.3 inches in size, as will the more modern multi-information display screens behind the steering wheel.

Oh, and there is that small, tiny engine change coming. Yes, Highlander 2023 is abandoning its 3.5-liter engine in favor of a turbocharged one.
All Toyota Highlander gasoline SUVs for 2023 come with a standard 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. This produces 265 horsepower and 309 lb.-ft. torque. “Higher-torque, high efficiency” as Toyota says.
More 2023 Highlander Updates
- Wireless charging pad moves from inside the center console to the smart shelf storage under the multimedia screen.
- Cypress green color added to the lineup.
- Power folding mirrors now standard on Highlander Limited and Platinum (for both Highlander gasoline and Highlander Hybrid)

I’ve been on several waiting lists since May of 2022 for a Highlander Hybrid XLE in windchill with black or tan interior and captains chair.
I am in the Ohio (Columbus) and Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) region.

Hey Jennifer.My wife and I bought/ordered our 22 Highlander Hybrid xle February 3. We were told it would be 4-6months. The dealer negotiated a 20 highlander xle gas model for us to use until ours arrives, which we will make a straight trade for our new car when it arrives. June came and went…still pending fulfillment . In August, the 6 month date, the sales manager advised us Toyota stopped production of the 2022 model. We will now wait until , probably next year, for our Highlander Hybrid xle. In the mean time we do have a 6 cylinder gas model that uses twice as much gas. We should have just kept our lovely 2010 4 cyl. Premium Venza, until we got our new car, but we’re worried if something happened to it or we might not get the same trade in value, etc. We made the deal and are stuck with it. At least we have a highlander to try out and get used to. This changed out mind on colour. We ordered black, but the 2020 is red , which we now have gotten used to after six months so changed the order colour to red.

I ordered my Highlander Hybrid in May and was told I will likely get one in March. The only update I received so far is that the rearview mirror that is listed will not be in the vehicle as they can't get them.

NO! The 2023 model still carries the same body, you're not going to get that until when there's a body redesign probably 2024/2025 if the rumored grand highlander comes to fruition.

I ordered a highlander platinum on may 25/2022 salesman will not give me any updates on when it will come in. Hard to believe they cant figure out an approximate date. I am from Edmonton Alberta in Canada.

We ordered a Highlander Hybrid Platinum in early March 2022 and were told 8-10 months, in August we were told possibly another 6 months and it would be a 2023 model. Thankfully, our salesman is very good to deal with and updates us when information is available. We're in St. John's, NL.

I have the same problem. Sales person assured that we had a 90 day...at most window. and now keeps saying 'next allotment'. Lying is second nature to these dirtbags so I should have taken his promise with a grain of salt. I am going to end the agreement since the 90 day period is up. There are other cars out there.

Ordered Limited Highlander Hybrid windchill with beige. That was Jan 7 22. The last two months no Limiteds have come in. 22s are over and done. So I think it will be February or March. But I like some of the improvements for '23 so ok with it.

Ordered our 2022 Highlander Hybrid in mid-Feb. and at the time was told delivery would be “very likely” by mid-June ‘22. Although I’ve been told I’m “#1” on the dealer’s allocation priority list (since June), still no production date has been given me as of mid-August.
Sure wish we hadn’t sold our second Lexus SUV last October, as sharing one vehicle has been a real bummer.

We ordered the Platinum Hybrid Highlander in early March 2022. At that time we were told 3 to 6 months for delivery. Last week we were told we will be getting a 2023 model in early 2023. We are located in Eastern Ontario Canada.

Put deposit on a 2022 Highlander Hybrid XLE on Dec. 16th 2021. Found out yesterday, Sept. 01 that it was changed to a 2023 about a week ago. It has not been allocated yet. I have a 2014 Highlander XLE that I am currently driving. With only 117000 km, so I am not hurting for a vehicle. We also have a 2017 Chevy Volt.

On list April 30, 2022 for ruby limited highlander bench seat AWD. no idea when or if I will ever get new highlander. Meanwhile value of trade-in decreases and interest rates skyrocket. I'm retired and these increases along with price increase for 2023 might price me out of the new car I want. What a bummer. Tired of getting told I havent been forgotten and I am #3 on the list in Ohio.

Ordered our 2022 Highlander LE on March 11, 2022 with no delivery in sight. I have upgraded to agreeing on a 2023 Highlander XLE but want in Blueprint color and gray interior. Maybe someday we will have the car? About to give up on Toyota.

Ordered our Black Platinum 4wd Hybrid on Feb 25th and was told 6-8 months. The dealership is saying it will be a 2023. They don't know when it will be allocated and delivered. I'm at the top of the waiting list. The wait is killing me but I like the 2023 changes. Just hope they add back in the electronic rear view mirror.

Put a deposit down on 2023 Highlander hybrid AWD Platinum last week. Was told could be up to 9 months ,but since Platinum is least ordered could be sooner. Fingers crossed in Eastern Tennessee

We live in Northeast Tennessee and placed a deposit on a 2022 Highlander Hybrid Platinum AWD in April 2022. The dealership has not been able to give us a projected date for delivery of what will now be a 2023 model. I sent message to Toyota and their reply indicated that my issue was essentially the responsibility of the individual dealership. I certainly do not feel like a valued Toyota customer.
