2021 Ford Bronco Breaks Ford’s Reservation System After Debut with 1st Edition Already Sold Out

To say that the 2021 Ford Bronco dominated social media and even the television Monday night would be an understatement. The Bronco’s much-anticipated debut practically broke the internet, had Twitter buzzing and loaded up people’s Facebook feed with photos of the three new Broncos.

Judging from the comments I read from old-school Bronco enthusiasts and even Jeep enthusiasts, Ford has a hit on their hand with the four-door and two-door variants. It’s hard to please everyone, but most of the criticism is minimal and that alone is impressive in today’s day and age.

What was most impressive was the seven million page views in the first two hours for the Bronco reservation site at Ford.com. The traffic was so heavy that the Bronco reservation site eventually crashed. Many insiders are predicting the Bronco will sell out (whatever that number may be) by the end of the month.

To reserve a Bronco you can go to Ford’s website or reserve through any Ford dealer for a $100 hold fee.

With 200 aftermarket accessories, a two-door and four-door version, plus the Bronco Sport, along with seven total trims and five packages, the possibilities are endless as to how you can order your 2021 Bronco. Plus Ford puts their G.O.A.T (go over any terrain) system in each trim. Some offer more G.O.A.T options than others. Plus, the 2.3-liter Ecoboost is standard for most trims. And it’s important to note that the 7-speed manual transmission is only available with the 2.3-liter, not the 2.7-liter Ecoboost which will have a 10-speed automatic.

Let’s take a look at the various trims and packages that will be available for the two-door and four-door Ford Bronco.

Bronco Base trim
Ford announced that the base trim 2-door Bronco would have a starting price of $29,995 while the base four-door would have a starting price of $34,695. This puts the pricepoint at a very competitive level with the likely competitor – Jeep Wrangler.

Ford says the Base trim is, “Designed for customers who want a no-frills 4x4 SUV or for those looking to customize their very own vehicle for rugged off-road adventure.”

Standard features for the Base trim include:
• 4x4 with part time-selectable engagement
• 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine
• 7-speed manual transmission with crawl gear
• Removable doors and roof
• Terrain management system with five GOAT modes
• 16-inch silver painted steel wheels, 30-inch all-season tires
• Sync 4 with 8-inch touchscreen
• Carpeted flooring
• Cloth seats

Optional equipment for the base trim include:
• 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine (10-speed automatic transmission only available)
• 10-speed automatic transmission with Trail Control
• Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement
• Sasquatch Package

Big Bend Trim
Ford says the Big Bend trim is “For customers looking for off-road capability with greater comfort, technology and convenience.” Pricing for this trim is not available.

Standard features for the Big Bend trim include:
• Terrain management system with five GOAT modes
• 17-inch carbonized gray-painted aluminum wheels
• 32-inch all-terrain tires
• Leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob
• LED fog lamps
• Carbonized gray grille
• Privacy glass

Optional equipment for the Big Bend trim include:
• 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine (10-speed automatic transmission only available)
• 10-speed automatic transmission with Trail Control
• Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement
• Heated front seats and remote smart (automatic transmission only)

Black Diamond Trim
Ford says the Black Diamond trim has “Next-level outdoor adventure adds heavy-duty off-road hardware and marine-grade washout interior .” Pricing for this trim is not available.
Standard features for the Black Diamond trim include:
• Heavy-duty modular front bumper, powder-coated steel rear bumper
• Rock rails and heavy-duty bash plates
• Terrain Management System with seven GOAT modes
• 17-inch black-painted steel wheels
• 32-inch all-terrain tires
• Auxiliary switches in overhead console
• Marine-grade vinyl-trimmed seats and rubberized washout flooring

Optional equipment for the Black Diamond trim include:
• 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine (10-speed automatic transmission only available)
• 10-speed automatic transmission with Trail Control
• Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement
• Sasquatch Package
• Mid package

Outer Banks Trim
Named after a popular beach vacation spot in North Carolina, Ford says the Outer Banks trim is perfect for “customers who prefer style and technology on-road and off .” Pricing for this trim is not available.

Standard features for the Outer Banks trim include:
• Terrain Management System with seven GOAT modes
• 18-inch black-painted machined-face aluminum wheels
• 32-inch all-terrain tires
• Signature LED headlamps and taillamps
• Body-color exterior door handles, mirror caps and fender flares
• Powder-coated tube steps
• Cloth heated front row bucket seats
• Mid package

Optional equipment for the Outer Banks trim include:
• 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine (10-speed automatic transmission only available)
• 10-speed automatic transmission with Trail Control
• Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement
• Leather-trimmed seats
• Sasquatch Package
• High package
• Lux package

Wildtrak Trim
This seems to be one of the more popular trims from the early chatter I saw from those who ordered already. Ford says this all-out desert runner comes with Sasquatch package, 35-inch tires and seven GOAT modes including Baja. The Wildtrak trim seems to be a true throwback to the Bronco heritage and a big reason why it’s so popular.

Standard features for the Wildtrak trim include:

• Mid Package
• Sasquatch Package
• Terrain Management System with seven GOAT modes
• 10-speed automatic transmission with Trail Control
• Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement

Badlands trim
This is the trim for serious off-road adventures. According to Ford, the Badlands trim is “designed for the ultimate in Bronco 4x4 off-road capability and comes with its own unique heavy-duty suspension that includes a front stabilizer bar disconnect.”

Standard features for the Badlands trim include:
• Terrain Management System with seven GOAT modes including Rock Crawl and Baja
• 17-inch carbonized gray-painted machined-face aluminum wheels
• 33-inch all-terrain tires
• Unique Badlands suspension with front stabilizer bar disconnect
• Heavy-duty modular front bumper, powder-coated steel rear bumper
• Auxiliary switches in overhead console
• Marine-grade vinyl-trimmed seats and rubberized washout flooring

Optional equipment for the Badlands trim include:
• Leather-trimmed seats

First Edition Bronco
Ford will produce no more than 3,500 of these limited, First Edition trims for the 2021 Bronco. The First Edition Bronco features the best of several trims including Badlands mechanicals, Outer Banks interior, and rugged Wildtrak exterior features. According to Ford’s website, reservations are already filled for the First Edition Bronco.

Not all trims can be paired up with each of the following packages. And each package comes at an additional cost (when not part of the standard features).

MID - Two-door Intelligent Access with lock and unlock functionality, 110V/150W AC power outlet, ambient footwell lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, heated front seats, illuminated visor mirrors, Remote Start System (automatic transmission only), Reverse Sensing System, subscription navigation with three month trial, SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, Ford Co-Pilot360 including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, BLIS with Cross- Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System, Auto High-Beam Headlamps and rearview camera with backup assist grid lines.

HIGH - Mid Package content, plus 12-inch center stack touchscreen, 360-degree camera, additional sound deadening, Forward Sensing System, sideview mirror LED approach lamps d spotlight.

LUX - High Package content, plus Adaptive Cruise Control; 10-speaker B&O Sound System; Evasive Steering Assist; heated steering wheel; universal garage door opener; two additional front row USB smart-charging ports; Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System and wireless charging pad.

SASQUATCH - 17-inch black-painted aluminum beadlock-capable wheels with 35-inch LT315/70R17 BSW Mud-Terrain tires, electronic-locking front and rear axles, 4.7:1 final drive ratio, high-clearance suspension, position- sensitive Bilstein shock absorbers and high-clearance fender flares .
