I reported last week about Ford’s “Built To Lend A Hand” program that provides financial assistance to those suffering hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Roush Performance announced that some of their performance-oriented pickup trucks will be eligible for a similar program. Under Ford’s “Built To Lend A Hand” program, Ford is offering up to six months of payment relief for eligible new car customers who finance through Ford Credit. Ford will pay for three months and customers can defer for up to three months for a total of up to six months. The program is for those purchasing new 2019 and 2020 model year vehicles, excluding 2020 F-Series Super Duty.
Roush says the same applies to their performance F-150 vehicles, but only for the 2019 model year. However, you can probably work with a Ford dealer who is a certified Roush Performance dealer as well and see if the purchase of a 2020 Roush vehicle would qualify for this offer. It’s quite possible that the dealer will make such an agreement, but the financing must run through Ford Credit.
The Roush statement said: “Roush wants shoppers to know that it’s vehicles qualify for the zero percent 84 month Ford Credit financing offer as well. Just as with Ford’s offer, this is for 2019 Roush vehicles only. Qualified buyers can get no payments for up to four months or can choose the zero percent APR for 84 months and pay no payments for 90 days on select vehicles.”
While Ford specifically said that the Super Duty trucks don’t qualify for this offer, Roush said the special financing should apply to all of the modified Ford F-150 Roush pickups.
My colleague Marc Stern has written several stories on the various Roush F-150, which would all be eligible for this special financing. Some of these include:
Roush F-150 SC
This popular F-150 modification adds a Roush TVS R2650 Supercharger to generated 650 horsepower. There’s also a Fox 2.0 off-road suspension system and custom front bumpers. There’s a special Roush grille with signature lighting and sexy dual-tip Cat-back performance exhaust.
Roush Nitemare Street Truck
The Ford F-150 SuperCrew is converted into an amazing nightmare with this high-performance Roush conversion. The Roush Nitemare features a supercharged 650-horsepower V8 with a lowered suspension, custom-designed 22-inch wheels and Roush styling on the exterior and the interior. According to Roush, the “Nitemare delivers a potent combination of power, performance and style that’s in a class of its own.”
Roush F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition
According to Roush: “Limited to 150 units for 2020, this truck is designed to deliver supreme performance on and off the road. The limited-edition 2020 ROUSH F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition is equipped with a heart-pounding 650 HP ROUSH Supercharger system, superior off-road performance components, exclusive 5.11 Tactical gear, and a stealthy appearance.Be ready for anything and tackle any terrain with uncompromising performance and unrivaled style in the 2020 ROUSH F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition.”
Under the hood, the 2020 Roush F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition comes equipped with a 5.0L V8 engine combined with the Roush TVS R2650 Supercharger System - delivering 650 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque.
It may seem extravagant to splurge on these performance-driven trucks, at this moment with all the economic uncertainty. I’m not here to judge. It’s nice to know that there are fair, financial options for even these special-edition Roush F-150s. This no-interest financing may be just the motivation needed to move some of these trucks off the car lots. Ford dealers, and all car dealers for that matter, are suffering dramatically right now. So I’m all for any incentives that may help them out and spur the economy. Getting a sweet, sexy, performance-oriented Ford F-150 makes this financing even more appealing.
