According to the U.S. General Services Administration purchase records, the purchase of hybrid and electric models dropped by 59% in 2011, making up only a small percentage of the federal government's total vehicle purchases. Most "alt fuel" purchases (in fact, nearly all) in 2011 were for "flex fuel" vehicles capable of using both E85 ethanol and standard gasoline.
Ya, when Armen showed me the initial AutoNews article this was based on, I had to dig in and see what the numbers say. Looks like a large percentage of Volt sales are in DC.
GM-Saab anyone??? What about Ford-Volvo and Jaguar/Land Rover??? I think we have established that Americans automakers are not good at owning European automakers!
Peugeot is the nimber 2 European constructor and Volvo or Saab was small potatoes. I think the closer match is Daimler Chrysler. This is more a strategic alliance of sharing certain platforms and streamlining production.

In fact, we in the industry knew to pronounce it as Daimler, as the Chrysler was silent.
