Italians love three things: espresso, pasta, and movies with severed horses heads in them. Now Fiat is offering one of those, built-in.

Lotus opting out of the Paris Auto Salon

Lotus has announced that they will not be attending the Paris Auto Salon this year, after making a huge splash two years ago with not one, but five concepts. Now, with top-level shakeups, the company is re-thinking its global strategy.
I think that lotus may have screwed themselves.

They came out with that amazing spread of upcoming models in 2010...I dont recall which show but i saw them in LA. however, here we are some two years later and the only vehicles they offer are the same evora and elise/exige as they had back then. I think that the Exige is awesome but I think that their already small target audience may be waiting for vehicles like the espirt and the next elise. That, and their CEO problems are putting a real hurt to the brand.
Looked it up

In reply to I think that lotus may have screwed themselves. by Patrick Rall
I looked it up before writing. The 6 models in 2010 were all debuted at the Paris show. I think it was in LA that they threw in celebrities, though. They haven't changed their stance on the Elite releasing next year (as a 2014), but with the high price point on that car, I'd say it's iffy since it's outside of their current market.
Lotus problems

They're having problems with rumors of the parent company being sold out. Plus, there's a lot of complaint about the Evora being a cow designed for our market. It's a big car for a Lotus and not everyone is happy. I think it would be great to have Exiges and Elises again.

The Elise was an awesome car and they should have kept it for sure.
