The Porsche 911 Black Edition Carrera is based on the 3.6-liter 911 Carrera that produces 345 horsepower. It comes with a price tag of $81,300 for the coupe, and for just an extra $10,000, you can get the cabriolet for $91,300. They’re due to arrive in the spring.
Don’t let that price tag fool you. You’ll actually be in the black after purchasing a 911 Black Edition Carrera. According to Porsche, the 911 Black Edition represents an approximate $6,000 MSRP savings over a similarly equipped 911 Carrera.
Exclusive to the Porsche 911 Black Edition Carrera is black lettering on the stainless steel door entry guards, a sport design steering wheel and an instrument cluster that is black. A badge on the glove compartment lid tells your passengers of the 911 Black Edition's limited production run. The rear center console is painted in the exterior color.
While they’re only in available in black, the Porsche 911 Black Edition Carreras come in two types of black paint: solid black or the optional basalt black metallic. The color on the 911 Black Edition Carrera comes from the two-color 19-inch wheels that provide an unobstructed view of the four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed calipers that just happen to be painted, wait for it, black.
In addition to having an exclusive color, the Porsche 911 Black Edition Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet will be available in limited numbers. Only 1911 will be sold with 30 percent of those targeted for sales in the United States.
