Nissan is gearing up for the 28th annual Z Car Convention in Memphis and invites enthusiasts and fans of the brand to convene at a special "cars and coffee" meetup at Nissan headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee. From there, a parade of Nissan vehicles piloted by Nissan employees, Nissan owners, and NISMO enthusiasts, will begin the 220-mile trip to Memphis for ZCon.
Beginning at 8 in the morning on Friday, July 17th, the road trip of owners and fans will proceed along U.S. highway 412 to Memphis. Those who wish to participate with their Nissan vehicle, heritage or new, are encouraged to tweet using the hashtag #NISMORoadTrip their intentions.
"ZCON is a great opportunity to showcase some of our most exciting vehicles – past and present – and celebrate Nissan's rich sports car heritage alongside an outstanding group of enthusiasts," said Pierre Loing, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. "With this year's event so close to Nissan's North American headquarters, it's only fitting that we join Nissan fans on a road trip with an incredible lineup of Z® cars, NISMO vehicles, the all-new 2016 Maxima and 2016 TITAN XD and more."
Joining the road trip will be Hiroshi Tamura, Nissan Chief Product Specialist for the GT-R and Z cars and NISMO brand. Race drivers Nick Hammann and Bryan Heitkotter, both GT Academy U.S. winners, will also be on the road trip. Joining them will be the entire NISMO lineup and several anniversary and all-new cars from the Nissan factory showroom and heritage museum.
The 2015 International Z Car Convention begins on Tuesday, July 14th and runs through Saturday the 18th. Events include an autocross competition, driving tours, and more culminating in a day-long car show on the 18th and an evening awards dinner and banquet. Nissan is a key sponsor of the event.
