Mazda’s sales of the all-new 2016 CX-3 kicked off this week with Roger Beasley Mazda Auto Group of Texas claiming to have sold the first CX-3 to a customer named John. Over the coming months, inventory of the CX-3 will continue to chase demand as the rollout progresses.
Subcompact crossovers like the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-3 are about to be the new hot vehicle style. Mazda’s CX-3 enters the Mazda Lineup as one of its smallest vehicles, slotting in below the Mazda3 and CX-5. Although there are many new models in this segment such as Subaru’s XV Crosstrek, the Mazda CX-3’s sales challenger will be the Honda HR-V.
The CX-3 recently came out on top in every performance category in a Car and Driver comparison. In the September 2015 issue, Car and Driver found the CX-3 had a decided performance advantage over the field and, in particular, the Honda HR-V. While spanking the other cute-utes in the acceleration, slalom and passing tests, the CX-3 also was found to have the best fuel economy during the tests. The 28 MPG of the CX-3 was 2 MPG of the runner-up and a whopping 5 MPG more than the Chevy Trax.
The 2016 Mazda CX-3 prices were detailed in our prior story. Interestingly, they match the new Honda HR-V’s almost to the dollar.
