Mazda is continuing its successful Launch Edition program and will soon be opened up to a select group of Mazda Miata insiders. Mazda plans to reach out to this group directly by e-mail. Mazda says that these insiders “…will have a specific window of time to pre-order the MX-5 RF Launch Edition before ordering opens to the general public.” Mazda plans to limit the Launch Edition to just 1,000 units.
The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Launch Edition is based on the fully-loaded Grand Touring trim, and will be painted in a unique color combination. The body will be Gray Metallic, and the roof panel will be hand-painted black. Auburn Nappa leather interior and badging complete the Launch Edition styling package. Like the prior Launch Edition from last summer, the Miata RF buyer will also receive a custom-designed, numbered 42mm Tourneau watch.
When the all-new Miata ND launched last year, Torque News was fortunate to have a reader and commenter who bought one. You can read LeRoy Dennison’s account of his Miata Launch Edition purchase, and hear how satisfied he was by reading our prior story.
Although Mazda has not yet announced the price tag of the Launch Edition, Torque News is willing to make a stab at the MSRP. Our estimate is that it will ring in at $34,000, not including destination and dealer documentation fees. Once official pricing and availability are announced, we will update our story.
