Toyota White Blizzard Pearl Support Program Phase 1 Notification
Toyota began notifying owners last year in the fall. The owners of Toyotas with white or blizzard pearl paint received a letter notifying them of the upcoming support.

Phase 2 - Repair
Toyota's second phase will consist of a repair made by your local dealer at no cost to you. Any authorized Toyota Dealership can determine if a condition is covered by this Customer Support Program, not just the one from which the vehicle was purchased.

Contact your dealer if you have an affected vehicle. They will tell you the schedule and plan for repairs to your vehicle. Those owners who wish to have direct contact with Toyota on this issue can call the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-888-270-9371 Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

If you have a Toyota with Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint that seems defective please tell us about it in the comments below. Detail your contact with Toyota and how the issue is being handled. Your experience may help a fellow owner.

I also have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma , with super White # 040 paint , which has peeling around rear windows of my extended cab , on driver side fender and on edges of the hood . I contacted Toyota , went through a process. it was sent to district manager , their response was that they were not accepting responsibility but to make customer satisfaction they would cover half paint job of the affected areas .

I have a 2015 Camry and cantaloupe size chunks of paint are coming off the car. Also lots of smaller chunks around all windows. I called the number you provided and the gentleman connected me immediately with the dealership where I bought it. I have an inspection next Monday.

I have a 2009 Scion XB. I was sent a notice that there were problems with 2 White paints that were used. Mine happens to be one. There were no problems until I noticed on Jan. 10, 2003 that the drivers side rear door had 2 chunks of paint missing. It continues to blister and come off. When I talk to Toyota they are refusing to resolve the issue. Saying it expired on Dec. 11, 2022. Who can I reach out to, to pursue the matter?

Have a 2010 Prius with super white paint that has been chipping off in chunks year after year. Finally i guess the Prius joined the list of vehicles covered as I just got a letter from toyota last week to say they will repaint affected panels, which at this point is 90 percent of the car panels.

My car is a white 2015 Corolla S and is peeling on front fender, driver door and top of car. Had no idea that Toyota was fixing the issue because I never received any info.

I purchased an effected 2010 Corolla with 040 Super White paint that's peeling. I called my local dealer today (24Mar2023) and was told that the program had expired. I'm waiting for the shop manager to call me back.

Have a 2011 Rav 4, purchased new, and I am original owner. The top around luggage rack and above front windshield have huge amounts of paint loss. I have always had my oil changed and car serviced at the dealer, but nothing was ever said about a recall on the white blizzard pearl paint. When I finally realized paint loss wasn't normal, I googled searched for a recall, and found it online. Called dealer and they said timeline on my vehicle had expired, When I asked them why nothing was said all the times I had it serviced, they said it wasn't their responsibility to notify me!! I should have gotten a recall from Toyota. Called main customer service they said I was notified in 2018, but found out they sent it to my street address where I Do Not Get My Mail, and the post office returned it!!! I asked him why they would send it to street address when vehicle registration lists my P O Box!!!! Nothing but a runaround, and ways to get out of covering the recall. Lost all respect for Toyota products, and the dealer I bought it from!!!!! This will severely affect trade in values on millions of cars they will not fix!!!!!

My wife just got a second hand 2012 Scion XB. When we picked it up from the used car dealership, they washed it and a section of paint came off the passenger side fender. They repainted it for free. After just bringing it into a #TOYOTA dealership to replace an O2 sensor, ($440) they washed it and blew off a section of paint from the rear of the roof! We always got Fords in the past; this is our first Toyota. Many people say Toyotas are good cars, but if you cant even paint them right, what the heck else should we be expecting to go wrong? We're super upset about it!

I have a 2016 Toyota Sequoia with Blizzard Pearl paint. Toyota says this model is not covered by the recall. I don't understand why if they know that the defect is with the paint and not the model. I'd think any Toyota with defective Blizzard Pearl paint should qualify!!!

I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander painted in the Blizzard Pearl. All along the edge, facing the windshield, the paint is chipping off. Vehicle has been well taken care of and in excellent condition.
Woood the paint warranty cover this?

Michael McDermott (not verified)    April 11, 2023 - 10:54PM

My 2012 Rav4 has had this paint problem over the last couple years. They fixed a couple spots and now even the area they 'fixed' is peeling again as well as other areas and they are refusing to fix it saying that the recall has expired. Paint is peeling off in sheets.

I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra - VIN# is: 5TFAW5F18EX354203 The paint is white and it is peeling badly. Especially across the top of the front windsheild. Will this ever be recalled? What can I do to get this taken care of?

Mike (not verified)    May 10, 2023 - 9:20PM

2018 Tacoma with super white paint is peeling. Spoke to Toyota dealer and Toyota experience and will not do anything. They only extend the paint warranty on other models not Tacoma. It’s unacceptable seeing that it is obviously a paint issue it should be any of there models with that color paint.

I have a 2016 Camry Special Edition in the Blizzard Pearl and it has started pealing around the back window. Based on most of the comment it sounds like this is an issue they have had for some time ugh!

ANNA BABCOCK (not verified)    May 15, 2023 - 2:11PM

My 2012 Toyota Avalon was part of t he paint problem. It is peeling around the back window. I took it to t he dealer and they told me that it was too late to do anything that it expired April 2022. My car just started going this. Please I just want it fixed, my car is low mileage and I love it. What can I do.

2017 Toyota Tacoma. Super white. Paint is cracking, bubbling and falling off. All different parts of the truck. Majority of it is in the window frames of the truck. But have noticed it on different parts of the truck. Leaving bare metal.

I have a 2018 Super White Rav4. I noticed that I have gray/green from the under paint coming through the white in multiple areas . . especially noticeable around gas tank. I just made an appointment to take in to a Toyota dealership this week. The 2018 is not part of the recall years for Rav4 Anyone have experience getting white paint covered outside of the recall years?

Donald Martin (not verified)    June 17, 2023 - 7:21PM

I have a 2022 toyota corolla with 6k on it and the paint is chipping around trunk spoiler and a few on hood from freeway driving. Paint seems very brittle? I bought car during 2023 model yr and have done very little driving.

Jeremiah McKenna (not verified)    June 21, 2023 - 10:45PM

I have a 2018 Corolla, but it is blue. The paint has been peeling since about a year or more after we purchased the car, brand new. Toyota continued to pass us off and said that they are back logged with all of the white cars, and we would need to wait. Well, I continued to call them and they continued to ignore me and tell me to wait a bi longer. Now it is out of warranty, and they refuse to assist.

I am not the only one that they have been ignoring and passing down and telling to wait. Another gentleman has a blue one, and they also told him to wait. He finally got an appointment for his car to be repaired. When he took it to the body shop, he was told that since the repair was not taken care of within the factory warranty period, that they will no longer be covering his repairs.

I used to believe in Toyota and their customer service and top notch quality. Unfortunately this experience has made me look in another direction in my recent purchases, and I not only was a Toyota Salesman, I have also been a loyal Toyota customer for decades.

Where is the class action lawsuit for the Blue paint that is peeling?
