Tell us if you have heard this one before, “Toyota wins value award…” If this sounds familiar, it should. Vincentric, the data analysis company, trusted by automakers and consumers, has just proclaimed that Toyota is the passenger car company whose products offer the best value. Lexus won the best Luxury car make, and Chevrolet won for best truck brand. It is interesting to see a Detroit-based automotive data company call Chevrolet a “truck brand.“
This is not Toyota’s firs Best Value in America award from Vincentric. Toyota has won five years in a row now. Commenting on the brand, Vincentric said, “The strength of the Toyota product line-up was evident again in 2015, with the brand earning its fifth consecutive Vincentric Best Passenger Vehicle Brand in America award. Toyota was honored with five individual Vincentric Best Value in America awards among passenger vehicles with its winners including the Prius v, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Highlander, and Highlander Hybrid.”
Toyota took all the hybrid categories except one. Toyota’s value wins by category are almost too numerous to list, but here is a selection. The smallest category is “Micro.” The Scion iQ won that division. Scion is a division of Toyota and shares its dealerships. The Large Car category went to the Avalon. Toyota also won the Mid-size and Premium Crossover segments with Highlander and Land Cruiser. Just for good measure the Toyota Tacoma won one of the four truck categories, taking the win in the Mid-Size Pickup segment. Many of the important segments Toyotas did not win, Lexus did.
