The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe is giving attendees at the Consumer Electronics Show this week a preview of just how smart future cars will be. The all-new Concept S-Class-Coupe optimizes the design philosophy of Mercedes-Benz. But it also comes with incredible intelligence.
This new S-Class Coupe displayed at CES will be the forerunner of the next-generation model. The German automaker tells us its a “concrete vision” of the next model generation and it will be intelligent. If this is the next-gen model, then the future is bright at Mercedes-Benz. We can get a good idea of what is coming and this car is stunning outside and underneath it will be very smart.
Mercedes is showing just how intelligent their cars of the future will be. They will feature everything from wearable devices with real-time vehicle data, predictive technology that adapts to your driving habits and cars that will even drive themselves. Concept S-Class Coupe is stunning, but it’s more than just good looks. It features
a large, high-resolution LED displays that adapts to whatever function may be required at a given time. It also comes with a central touch-enabled controller that actually provides haptic feedback that lets the driver feel it interacting with them. Mercedes says this and other innovative technology is here today and will be available in the cars we drive in the very near future.
Predictive User Interface
What other technology can we plan on seeing in the near future? Mercedes is working on a Predictive User Interface that will give the driver suggestions like a restaurant to eat at based on places they’ve already been, the number of passengers, day of the week and more. And they say it’s just the beginning.
Google Glass and Pebble Smart Watch Integration
Google Glass integration in the S-Class could well be the next big thing in wearable technology. It will soon be integrated with the Pebble smart watch. From literal point-to-point directions through Glass, to tactile vehicle alerts delivered via Pebble, Mercedes will integrate wearables in their new automotive technology in the near future.
Vehicle Homepage
Would you like to run a check on your cars diagnostics without being anywhere near the vehicle? Mercedes says yes you can. If you have a web-connected device; tablet, phone, laptop, or desktop, you can access what essentially amounts to a vehicle homepage and get data about your Mercedes-Benz from anywhere in the world.
Digital DriveStyle Nest
Digital DriveStyle Nest is a wifi-enabled thermostat that delivers incredible energy savings to your home. An industry first, your Mercedes-Benz car can send estimated time of arrival information to the Nest thermostat at your home, letting it know exactly when you’ll arrive home and therefore saving as much energy as possible.
