A new study from iSeeCars says the average number of days to sell for all new vehicles is 46.2 days. The Subaru Forester takes almost half the time, just 23.6 days, to move off dealer’s lots.
The Subaru Forester is the Camden, N.J. automaker’s fastest-selling model in the lineup for a reason. Forester is consistently ranked high for its standard all-wheel-drive, excellent visibility, top safety crash scores, utility, fuel economy, and cargo-carrying ability.
The Forester is in high demand and the number three fastest-selling compact SUV behind two other small SUVs, the Toyota RAV4 (21.9 days) and the all-new Ford Bronco Sport (21.7 days). You can check out the top twenty fastest-selling new cars in 2021 here.
Subaru has the lowest vehicle inventories of any automaker, and the Forester is in high demand. Automotive News (by subscription) reveals Subaru had the tightest supply of cars of any automaker at 29 days as of January 1, 2021, according to its Research & Data Center.
The Forester finished 2020 as the top volume model with 176,996 units sold and starts 2021 where it left off. The Forester compact SUV leads the Outback crossover/wagon (11,784 units sold in January) by 1,423 units. A quick look around the country shows Forester inventory is increasing in February as new models arrive from Japan.
Forester is one of the top-10 SUVs owners keep the longest
Another study reveals the Forester is kept longest by owners. The Forester is not a newcomer to the list and has been consistently on the report the past five years. Forester scores the number four spot on the top-10 SUVs owners keep the longest. That’s 1.6 times longer compared to the average SUV.
What is the price of the 2021 Subaru Forester?
The 2021 Forester comes in five trim levels, and the base trim has an MSRP of $25,845, Premium ($28,845), Sport ($30,445), Limited ($32,445), and Touring ($35,945). Pricing includes $1,050 destination.
iSeeCars says the average transaction price for the 2021 Forester is $31,673. The Forester Sport is the best trim option because it’s the only trim level that comes with dual-function X-Mode for improved off-pavement performance.
The 2021 Subaru Forester is Subaru of America’s number one selling model and now the third-fastest selling compact SUV in America.
