There are a lot of car brands for new car shoppers to pick from, and most new models today are worthy of your consideration. The Subaru brand is unique for several reasons, and I will give you eight reasons why I drive a Subaru vehicle.
1. Standard Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system
Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive has been proven to be one of the best. Subaru was the first automaker to make all-wheel-drive standard on all its models. The Japanese automaker has been building all-wheel-drive SUVs longer than anyone. How about 50+ years of experience?
This will show my age, but I became a Subaru fan after driving my fiancés's 1976 Subaru 4WD GL Wagon over Rabbit Ears Pass in a blinding snowstorm.
2. Safety tech is Subaru's core value
If you want one of the safest vehicles on the road, buy a Subaru. Every Subaru model is a Top Safety Pick+ winner or Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Subaru models have superior eyesight. Subaru's EyeSight driver assist safety technology has been proven to keep occupants safe in the event of a crash. Subaru keeps improving its safety technology. EyeSight is now standard on all 2024 models.

It's also because of Subaru's body structural integrity. Subaru uses a ring structure surrounding the cabin, keeping the driver and passengers safe.
3. The Subaru Boxer Engine sits low for a lower center of gravity
Subaru has a unique engine design using a Boxer engine. It sits flat in the chassis because the pistons are horizontally opposed instead of vertically, like most engine designs. All Subaru vehicles have a lower center of gravity because of the Boxer engine, giving the car more stability and improving driving performance.
4. All-weather and all-terrain capability
All Subaru SUVs have at least 8.7 inches (except for Solterra's 8.3 inches) of ground clearance, and the Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek Wilderness have added ground clearance.
Why is this important? The Subaru SUVs are for more than just commuting and grocery hauling. The Subaru models are all-terrain capable for active customers who use the SUV for off-pavement fun. The Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Ascent, and Solterra come with X-Mode for extreme weather performance. You won't find me sitting at home when the snow gets deep. Some trims have dual-function X-Mode, which has more extreme all-terrain performance.
5. Subaru cargo room
Subaru SUVs have extra cargo capacity, allowing you to carry your outdoor gear. Standard roof rails enable you to easily carry a cargo box or recreation toys like mountain bikes, snowboards, kayaks, or rooftop tents. I like to have fun on the weekends.
6. Subaru Cares
I like that Subaru cares about the environment and things that make a difference in my local community. They support causes like Meals on Wheels, which my dad used, ASPACA, Make A Wish, and the National Parks. Subaru of Indiana Automotive is a zero-waste manufacturing plant with a wildlife habitat.
7. Price
Subaru is a value-priced mainstream brand. According to Cox Automotive data, in February 2024, the average new car transaction price was $48,759. Subaru's average new car MSRP is about $36,000.

You can buy a 2024 Crosstrek Premium for just above $31,000. It could be the best time to buy a new Subaru. There is a unique opportunity now as inventory improves and fewer buyers are available, and Subaru of America offers special incentives and financing.
8. Subaru has the Highest Resale Values
I've written recent reports on Subaru's resale values and why their retained value is among the best in the industry. It made a significant difference when I traded in my Subaru all-wheel-drive vehicle for a new model after a few years.
This is the latest information regarding Subaru all-wheel-drive models. I'll keep you updated on all of Subaru's models.
