Even with the record-cold temperatures in February, there is no cooling off for the smokin' hot 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. On the contrary, the subcompact SUV only gets hotter.
It's the big news in the cold month of February for Subaru of America. They reported sales are up, and the Crosstrek is a significant reason. The Subaru Crosstrek subcompact SUV started the year with a bang, and it gets hotter before the next-generation model arrives this spring and summer.
The Crosstrek started 2023 hot, and the subcompact SUV gets red hot in February. As a result, the 2023 Crosstrek was SOA's overall sales leader again. In addition, Crosstrek was the top performer by volume, achieving its best February ever with 14,816 vehicle sales, surpassing its previous record set in February 2022 (14,476).
The Crosstrek also had a record month in January to start the year. The hot Crosstrek is up 14.7 percent for the first two months of the year, the most of any Subaru nameplate.
An impressive statistic is that the Crosstrek is the only subcompact SUV in America to lead any car brand's lineup in new model sales. "The Crosstrek, in particular, continues to impress with its best February ever, and the all-new 2024 Crosstrek started production last week," said Jeff Walters, Senior Vice President of Sales.
Subaru of America reported that the next-generation 2024 Crosstrek started production at the U.S. plant in Lafayette, Indiana. It's the first Crosstrek model to roll off the assembly line in America.
Until now, the Crosstrek has only been manufactured in Gunma, Japan. But now, Subaru of Indiana Automotive began (last week) producing the 2024 Crosstrek Sport and 2024 Crosstrek Limited trim levels in the U.S. plant for the first time.
Customers will want to wait for the 2024 model change.
The two trim levels (Sport and Limited) get significant upgrades from the second-generation models. They are both powered by the re-tuned and slightly more powerful 2.5-liter Boxer engine producing 182 hp and 178 lb.-ft. of torque.
What is the price of the 2024 Crosstrek?
For 2024, the Crosstrek will be available in Base, Premium, Sport, and Limited trim levels and has a starting price of $26,290 (the same MSRP as the 2023 Base model equipped with the Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission).
The 2024 Crosstrek Premium has a starting price of $27,440, Sport ($30,290), and Limited ($32,190). Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,225).
How much did the 2024 Crosstrek price increase?
The Premium trim price increased by +$70, the Sport +$1,070, and Limited +$1,470.
Even though the 2023 Crosstrek received no upgrades, Subaru's hottest model gets red hot in a cold month, setting a new sales record for February.
