How hot is the Subaru Crosstrek? Subaru of America (SOA) reported new 2022 Crosstrek sales, and the subcompact SUV had a record month in February. SOA says its retailers delivered a record 14,476 Crosstrek models to customers in February, up 35.4 percent over February 2021 with 10,691 models sold.

How does the Crosstrek compare with other Subaru models?

The Crosstrek subcompact SUV was also the number one selling nameplate in SOA’s all-wheel-drive lineup. Crosstrek passed the 2022 Forester compact SUV with 11,255 models sold and the 2022 Outback midsize SUV with 8,637 sales.

To start the new year, Crosstrek has 24,003 model sales through February, just 783 units behind the number one Forester with 24,786 models delivered to U.S. customers.

The Crosstrek passed the popular Outback with 19,164 models sales through the first two months, and the subcompact SUV is now 4,839 models ahead of the Outback. The Crosstrek is up 13.6 percent for the year while Forester is down -7.1 percent, and Outback dropped -21.6 through February.

How does the Crosstrek compare with the competition?

In February, the Subaru Crosstrek sold more models than the Honda HR-V (13,340 units sold), Hyundai Tucson (12,928), Ford Escape (11,706), Hyundai Kona (4,591), and Mazda CX-30 (4,333).

What is the price of the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek is one of the most affordable new compact SUVs and comes in five trim levels for U.S. customers. The base trim is priced from $23,570, Premium ($24,720), Sport ($27,920), Limited ($29,420) and Crosstrek Hybrid ($37,895). Prices include destination and delivery fees ($1,125).

What is the 2022 Crosstrek fuel mileage?

With fuel prices continuing to go up, Crosstrek gets excellent fuel mileage. The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek with the larger 2.5-liter Boxer engine comes with 30 more horsepower and gets an EPA estimated fuel mileage of 27/34 city/highway mpg and 29 combined mpg. The 2022 Crosstrek with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine gets an EPA estimated 28/33 mpg and 30 combined mpg.

What’s next for the 2023 Crosstrek?

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek gets a complete remodel. We know from sources close to Subaru; the Japanese automaker will launch a new Crosstrek Wilderness trim level in 2023. The next-generation Crosstrek will make its U.S. launch first in early 2023, and the Crosstrek Wilderness will arrive in North America in the spring of 2023. Stay tuned.
