“I Got Pulled Over In My Tesla Cybertruck For No Reason, the Cop Says This is the First Cybertruck I've Pulled Over"

Have you ever been pulled over by the police for a minor traffic violation? This Tesla Cybertruck feels he was unjustly pulled over by a police officer in his neighborhood. Check out what the police officer said after he pulled over the new EV truck.

"He just wanted to look at your truck. Next time, offer to take him for a ride."

That's a comment Raph received, who owns a Tesla Cybertruck, from his Tesla Cybertruck Owners Facebook post. Have you ever been pulled over by the police for no apparent reason? That happened to Raph, who says the cop probably just wanted to look at his controversial truck.

Raph says, "I got pulled over in my neighborhood for literally nothing on the way back from the carwash. The police officer said I hung out in between two lanes for a moment (which I did, to avoid puddles and splashing my just-washed truck).

"This was a complete B.S. stop. He then asked me a thousand questions about my truck and even said, "This is the first cybertruck I've pulled over." OK boss. He was merciful and let me go with just a warning."

Raph being pulled over by the police in his Tesla CybertruckOther commenters say they have experienced the same thing.

Julio C. Olvera says, I have gotten pulled over twice in my CT. Mine took about 2.5 months to come in, but both cops were so stoked to have pulled me over and asked me tons of questions about the truck as well, and both times, I got warnings.

Michael Cervellino - I feel your pain; I got pulled over in August in my Cybertruck; same thing, 32 in a 25-school zone.

Jason Lee - I had police pull me over once to ask me how it was to drive my Model S plaid. He'd never seen one before and was just curious. He seemed like a fan. This was within the first few months of the model S plaid release.

Arnie Kopp - Coincidentally, I got pulled over yesterday by a good-looking female officer. I rolled through a stop sign and a little speeding. I said I realized I got up to 40 in a 35 and backed down. I told her I was still getting used to this truck.

I gave her my registration and driver's license but said I would have to find the picture of the insurance card since my son bought the insurance and I didn't have a card. (We own the Cybertruck together).

I started looking for the picture, and she said she'd return to see it. I found the picture and waited for a few minutes with light snow coming down. She returned and looked at the insurance card photo, handed back my license and registration, and said she was giving me a warning.

I thanked her for only giving me a warning. I think she wanted to tell her fellow officers that she got to stop a Cybertruck, probably a first in our city. Or the fact that I have a CDL and knew I would get 30 days off with a ticket.

Lucky, either way. I felt humiliated as other drivers went by me on a busy street.

What Should Cybertruck Owners Do If Pulled Over By the Police?

Here are a few tips to keep you out of trouble and get a warning instead of a traffic ticket. Please note that these are general suggestions and may not apply to all situations. Always follow the laws and regulations in your area.

Traffic School gives good advice on how to increase your chances of receiving a warning instead of a traffic ticket:

Key points to remember:

  • Be respectful and courteous: Maintain a polite demeanor throughout the interaction with the officer.
  • Acknowledge the violation: If you were clearly breaking a rule, admit your mistake and explain that it was an honest error.
  • Provide a reasonable explanation: If applicable, explain mitigating circumstances like being distracted by a sudden event or unfamiliar with the road layout.
  • Ask for a warning: Directly ask the officer if they would consider issuing a warning instead of a ticket.
  • Maintaining a clean driving record: A good driving history can work in your favor when requesting leniency.
  • Follow proper procedures when pulled over: Pull over safely to the side of the road, turn off your engine, and wait for instructions from the officer.
  • Avoid arguing or being defensive: Even if you disagree with the citation, try to remain calm and respectful when explaining your perspective.
