Mercedes Concept S-Class Coupe reveals next generation intelligence [video]

The design philosophy of Mercedes-Benz is optimized in the all-new Concept S-Class-Coupe and it “exudes emotional appeal.” But it also comes with incredible intelligence. Designers definitely drew on the gene-pool of styling features which is typical of the brand. A Mercedes-Benz is always recognizable but this Coupe has new clean smooth surfaces and at the same time keeps the values of tradition.

The new grand coupe is at the top of the Mercedes product range and this S-Class Coupe will be the forerunner of the next-generation model. The German automaker tells us its a “concrete vision” of the next model generation and it will be intelligent. If this is the next-gen model, then the future is bright at Mercedes-Benz. We can get a good idea of what is coming and this car is stunning outside and underneath it will be very smart.

It comes with rear-drive that is typical of a high-performance sport coupe. The long hood speaks of the power that will be underneath. The Concept S-Class Coupe is powered by a V8 Bi-turbo engine. This 4.6-liter engine produces 455 hp with peak torque of 700 Nm (516 lb. ft). And it will come with a very special high-tech feature that uses Mercedes-Benz “Intelligent Drive” technology.

The Mercedes “Intelligent Drive” system is equipped with two "camera eyes" that monitor a view area up to 50 meters in front of the vehicle.The stereo camera can get a three-dimensional view of the area and a "6DVision" detects the position and movement of objects before the car gets there. This can be very useful for driving at night and at high speeds.

The high-tech system will be able to monitor the surroundings ahead of the stylish coupe over a range of up to 500 meters. The radar and ultrasound sensors compile all the data and send the information to the driver via a multitude of assistance systems monitoring the surrounding traffic. The driver can relax knowing this ultra-intelligent car has their back.

The Concept S-Class Coupe will get a very special suspension that makes use of the new stereo camera as well. Like the new 2014 S-Class, the Concept S-Class Coupe can detect surface undulations in advance. It will also come with a new Body Magic Control that adjusts the suspension in advance to suit the specific driving situation. It utilizes the same camera images and vehicle status information, and continuously calculates the best control strategy to cope with uneven stretches of road surface.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupe reveals the future Grand Coupe that will be coming soon.
