The Subaru Forester Boost Gear, It’s Not The New 2025 Forester Wilderness

Subaru Corporation unveiled a new 2024 Forester Boost Gear outdoor package exhibited at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 held on January 12 to 14, 2024. I cover the show every year, and Subaru brings two new Boost Gear Package models. They also display a 2024 Subaru Outback Boost Gear package trim level. What does it mean for active customers?

Subaru says they are both concept vehicles, so they won't be available for customers to buy. But it does give active customers an idea of what Subaru is thinking. 

Subaru keeps the outdoor theme alive in the two models. They also talk about Overlanding, which active customers do with their Subaru all-wheel-drive vehicles. The Forester compact SUV and Outback midsize SUV epitomize what getting away from civilization and further off the grid is all about.

What is the difference between camping and Overlanding? Overlanding is getting further off the grid. Subaru enthusiasts have been combining road trips and taking their vehicles to less-explored locations for decades. 

Many Subaru enthusiasts take it to the next level and modify their all-wheel-drive vehicles with lift kits, underbody protection, and larger wheels and tires. The Subaru Forester Boost Gear and Outback Boost Gear are already outfitted for customers.

The 2024 Subaru Forester Boost Gear package

Subaru says, "The Forester Boost Gear concept further enhances the joy of driving, and the Boost Gear Package enriches each person's life. It's a Boost Gear concept car customized with the theme of "An SUV that plays more with nature."

2024 Subaru Outback Boost Gear package

Subaru says, "The Outback Boost Gear concept car was customized with the theme of an Overlander that makes you want to go further, have more experiences, and play for longer."

I have covered the Subaru Wilderness trim levels in detail. They are the best examples of Subaru's mindset for outdoor enthusiasts now. Subaru has yet to announce the next-generation 2025 Forester Wilderness trim level for U.S. customers. I am looking for additional upgrades for the new model.
