Everything's bigger in Texas.
You've heard those Texans that think everything in the Lone Star state is the biggest and baddest. I live in Colorado, where our jokes are about Texans. This feel-good story will leave you thinking a little differently about those braggadocios Texans.
Calling out the good in people.
It's a good day to call it out whenever someone makes a difference in people's lives. Subaru of America announced Five Star Subaru in Grapevine, Texas, as the Subaru Love Promise Retailer of the Year Award for 2024. They have been recognized for their ongoing dedication to supporting their local community.
Subaru of America (SOA) says, "The award goes to the Subaru retailer who has shown significant commitment to their customers and their community throughout the year, exemplifying the Subaru Love Promise."
The Subaru Love Promise
I've written a lot about the Subaru Love Promise before. Unlike your typical car company, Subaru is deeply committed to positively impacting people's lives. Read my full report here for more information.
Subaru's mission is not just about cars; it's about being a positive force that shows love and respect to all people. Subaru of America strives to embody this mission in every interaction, whether with new car buyers, longstanding owners, retailers, partners, or the communities where Subaru employees live and work. This inclusive mission is what they call the Subaru Love Promise.
Back to the big state of Texas.
Tony Hooman, General Manager of Five Star Subaru, is all about the local community of Grapevine, Texas. Where is Grapevine? It's a small community near the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
Don't forget about our seniors.
SOA says that since opening in 2016, Hooman and his team have been diligently focused on Subaru Love Promise initiatives at the Grapevine, TX, Subaru dealer under the guidance of owner Sam Pack. Their unwavering dedication is truly commendable.
Over the last eight years, they have donated more than $1.1 million to over 50 local and national charities, most notably partnering with Serving Our Seniors (SOS), a local organization that supports senior citizens living in northeast Tarrant County, Texas. This substantial contribution has made a significant difference in the lives of many. That's a ton of money for a Subaru dealer to give away.
It's all about serving its neighbors.
Since 2022, Five Star Subaru has been working with SOS for the annual Subaru Share the Love Event. This event is a significant part of the dealership's community service, helping the organization serve and support over 65,000 seniors free of charge. In 2023 alone, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine employees volunteered over 900 hours and continue to assist community organizations and customers in need.
If you treat people right, they will come.
Since its first year of business, the retailer has been a top-selling store, nurturing customer relationships to earn the Subaru Love Promise Customer and Community Commitment Award since their inception. This Subaru dealer is not just about selling cars; it's about serving its neighbors and making a difference in the community.
Ok, so no more Texas jokes for now. This giving-back-to-the-community story is Texas-sized and deserves to be shouted from the rooftops. In this case, their giving is bigger in Texas.
