A 3 Vehicle Pile Up Involving a Model S, 3, & Y Recorded by Another Tesla On the Highway – What Happens When the Safest Vehicles on the Road Collide

A new video captures the moment three Tesla vehicles, a Model S, a Model 3, and a Model X, pile up together on the highway. The violent crash reveals what happens when the safest vehicles in the world collide.

Tesla’s four vehicles are the safest cars ever tested by regulators in the United States and the European Union.

The Model Y is the safest vehicle in the world, followed by the rest of Tesla’s lineup, including the Model S, 3, & X.

Tesla vehicles are safe due to their large crumple zone, low center of gravity, rigid construction, and advanced airbag deployment mechanisms that enhance passenger protection.

In addition, Tesla vehicles also come with one of the most advanced, if not the most advanced, active safety software through the vehicle's autopilot software and automatic emergency braking functionality.

All these factors added together make Teslas the safest vehicle on the road. It’s commonplace to witness collisions where a Tesla runs into another car, and the other vehicle's occupant has to be taken to the hospital, whereas the Tesla driver walks away unscathed.

However, what happens if there is a collision and all vehicles are Teslas? This is precisely what happened recently on the 101 highway in California.

As you can see in the video, three vehicles, a Tesla Model Y and a Model 3 in the right lane and a Tesla Model S in the leftmost lane, are seen driving on the highway. The Model 3 driver attempts to overtake the Model Y on the left lane.

Unfortunately, the Model 3 driver did not check his side before executing the maneuver and ran straight into the Model S; following this crash, both the Model 3 and Model S are seen up in the air, and the Model S swerves right and hits the Model Y.

The Tesla computer inside both vehicles turned the hazard lights of both the Model S and Model 3 even before the collision happened.

You can see in the video the hazard lights of both vehicles blinking rapidly as they stop in the middle of the highway.

The fact that the vehicles automatically and immediately turn on the hazard lights is another vital safety feature. In these types of highway accidents, there is an even bigger risk of secondary crashes by oncoming traffic.

In addition, you can also see the Model Y in front of the crashing Model 3 and Model S accelerate rapidly as it gets out of the way with minimal damage.

Seeing a 3 Tesla crash on the highway is unfortunate; however, it’s also a testament to how much Tesla has grown as a car manufacturer over the past few years.

Not only was there a 3 Tesla collision by accident, but the accident also appeared to be videotaped by another Tesla vehicle traveling ahead of the three cars.

Another thing to note here is that there is no sign that Tesla’s autopilot or FSD software was engaged, and the collision appears to have been caused by the drivers.

Atleast model 3 have fairly poor visibility to behind/sides. Sure in this case driver would have been able to see car on other lane. What im trying to say is that atleast compared other cars i have owned it takes more time/effort to have compete picture of whats around you.
