Elon Musk Gives Cybertruck Production Update in Response to the Sea of Record 370 Stainless Steel Trucks Spotted at Giga Texas

A drone flight over Giga, Texas, shows a record 370 Cybertrucks parked at the facility. In response to the sea of stainless trucks photographed at the Texas facility, Elon Musk has given an update regarding the Cybertruck production ramp.

Recently, Tesla stirred up a bit of controversy when the company opened a loophole that allows select individuals to pay credits to skip the line, configure, and take delivery of their Cybertruck in under 45 days.

Tesla currently has over 1 million Cybertruck reservation holders, and the company is struggling to determine the correct order in which to deliver the trucks to customers.

The most logical approach will be to serve customers in the order they reserved their Cybertrucks. However, with the huge mismatch between Cybertruck production and demand, some individuals have taken delivery of their Cybertruck and immediately resold them on the secondary market for a huge profit.

To disparage this action, Tesla has implemented various filters to decide who should get their trucks first.

As mentioned above, Tesla has allowed individuals who pay 30,000 credits to move up on the line; Tesla has also allowed verified stockholders with over $84,000 worth of Tesla shares to receive their trucks sooner.

Going forward, the EV maker will likely implement other creative strategies to filter out real buyers from flippers. However, no matter Tesla’s intention, there will never be a foolproof strategy, and a loophole allowing some individuals to skip the Cybertruck queue will certainly anger others.

The best way to address the cybertruck delivery issue is for Tesla to ramp up production quickly and allow everyone in line to get their trucks as soon as possible.

And luckily, today, thanks to Elon Musk, we’ve some good news regarding how the Cybertruck production ramp is going.

When Tesla started delivering the Cybertruck in November, the EV maker tapered expectations, stating that it doesn’t expect Cybertruck production to reach significant levels until 2025.

Since then, Tesla hasn’t said much regarding the Cybertruck production ramp; however, today, Elon Musk hopped on X and stated that Cybertruck production is ramping up.

Musk made this comment in response to an X user's post, stating, “A record 370 Cybertrucks spotted at Giga Texas today.” The X user also attached a picture of a sea of stainless steel trucks parked together at the factory and a drone flyover video by Brad Sloan showing the factory.

As you can see in the attached picture and video, the Texas facility is teeming with Cybertrucks, and the Cybertruck production ramp is going well.

Despite revealing that Cybertruck production is ramping, Musk did not give exact numbers; however, a couple of days ago, Tesla announced that in the last 7 days, the company was able to produce enough 4680 batteries to produce 1000 Cybertrucks per week.

This is a production rate of 50,000 Cybertrucks a year, or about 20% of the peak Cybertruck production, which is expected to be around 250,000 Cybertrucks annually.

If Tesla is able to increase Cybertruck production at this pace, this should address the issue of Cybertruck flippers, as the truck will not be able to fetch as much value in the secondary market.

Even before Tesla is able to significantly ramp up Cybertruck production, prices are already starting to fall for the all-electric truck on the secondary market, and it will be interesting to see how this news will further affect Cybertruck resale value.

It’s also interesting to follow how Tesla will be able to ensure Cybertruck production quality amidst the brisk production ramp.

Tesla vehicles usually experience the worst fit and finish issues during the quickest part of the production ramp, which is the middle of the S curve, and it appears we have reached that point on the Cybertruck production ramp.

Currently, this is all the information we’ve received regarding the Cybertruck production ramp. However, we’ll keep you posted as we get more information about Tesla’s progress. Until then, visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.

So, what do you think? Are you happy to learn that Cybertruck production is ramping up quickly? How many Cybertruck do you think Tesla can sell in a year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
