A Nissan Dealer Goes Above And Beyond To Tailor To Enthusiasts Looking For The Most Driver-Focused Z

If you want to get your hands on a driver-focused Nissan Z, one dealership has what you need, for under MSRP.

In a world where dealer markups and hidden fees rule over the car buying process, it is refreshing to see someone who has both, a brilliant business instinct and a thought for us car enthusiasts. The Nissan Z, despite minor drawbacks pointed out by some owners, is an absolute bargain in the world of sports cars. Yesterday, I spoke with a man that goes by NISMO Nick Scherr on Facebook, after his post in “The New Nissan Z” group caught my attention.

“It’s a new month. Nissan has NOT released any rebates or incentivized rates on the 2025 Z, so I figured I would do something.

All 2025 Zs are $3,000 under MSRP with NO dealer adds or hidden fees.

1 Silver Sport manual

The Nissan Z will likely not get any cheaper than it already is, but here is how you can make the most out of your purchase.

Nick tells me that the 2025 Nissan Zs he has on stock are $3,000 to $4,000 under MSRP. The Nissan Z Sport (base model) starts at $44,110, while the Nissan Z Performance, which to me represents the perfect middle ground, has a starting MSRP of $54,110.

If you are wondering whether to get the Nissan Z Heritage Edition or the NISMO Z, the former is over $6,500 more affordable. It is also manual, unlike the NISMO, which despite being slower, seems to be the more popular transmission choice. It is safe to say that with what Nick does with the Nissan Z, you can get a Heritage for around the Z Performance MSRP.

Currently, Nick's workplace doesn't have any NISMO Zs in stock. The focus is on Z variants that come with the manual. When I asked him why, he said it is "the enthusiast choice”. He also says in the group post that he only orders manuals, although I am sure he can sort you out if a Z automatic is what you want (for some reason). I always appreciate someone who thinks of the car enthusiasts, especially when driver-focused sports cars are sadly becoming a rarity.

Which Nissan Z to get

Nissan dealership that tailors to enthusiasts, will sell you a Nissan Z manual for a good amount under MSRP

Nick has a nice selection of the Nissan sports car, with different variants being available. Those include two Heritage Editions, which he tells me, are still available. Many of the Zs currently available at Avondale Nissan are finished in the iconic Bayside Blue color, known from the legendary Nissan Skyline R34 GTR. Another popular option is the Rosewood Metallic.

If you want a complete sports car, the Nissan Z Performance is the way to go as it has the larger brakes and mechanical limited-slip differential, among other goodies, lacking on the base model. Or, just get the Sport trim and put all the performance parts afterwards. Someone pointed out to me that the limited-slip differential from the Z Performance manual can bolt directly on to the Z Sport, since everything else on the drivetrain is the same.

Many group members are asking Nick for new arrivals and specific colors. Nissan Z Performance in Rosewood Metallic seems to be a combination desired by many. I have shared Nick's contact (somewhere in the upper paragraphs), so if you are looking for a Nissan Z at a great price, you can holler at him. I am curious to know what your perfect Nissan Z is? Maybe you have one already? Feel free to share your thoughts or experience in the comment section below.

For some people who have cash resources, they lucked out. It's pretty clear without a merger or buyout Nissan is toast walking away from Honda deal and another I believe. Negotiation takes 2 agreeable sides. With those transmissions being what started the problems along with not updating enough and selling to fleets, who put the nail in the coffin?
