We now have a possible idea thanks to someone getting their hands on a Russian dealer brochure for the upcoming E63. A member on the GermanCarFourm.com uploaded pictures revealing some juicy details on the powertrain.
The next Mercedes-AMG E63 looks be using the latest iteration of AMG's twin-turbo 4.0L V8. The standard E63 will produce 563 horsepower and 553 pound-feet. The bonkers E63 S ratchets up power to 604 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. These are noticeable increases from the previous E63 (518 horsepower, 516 pound-feet) and E63 S (577 horsepower, 627 pound-feet). A nine-speed automatic will be the sole transmission. Mercedes will offer the E63 with rear-wheel and '4Matic' all-wheel drive - but not every market will get both versions.
Performance figures stand 3.7 seconds for the E63 4Matic and 3.5 seconds for the E63 S 4Matic. Top speed will be limited to 155 mph.
At the moment, many believe Mercedes will reveal the new E63 at the Paris Motor Show this October.
