The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX just earned a coveted spot on a highly respected list. The 702-horsepower truck was named to the Car and Driver Editors' Choice list. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is designed to be the quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced truck in the world and it makes the Editors’ Choice list in its first year on the market.
Car and Driver’s Editors' Choice List
“This is the list of those (vehicles) we would recommend to our friends and family, the vehicles we think are reliable, safe and fun to drive,” said Sharon Silke Carty, Car and Driver editor-in-chief.
Car and Driver tested more than 400 different vehicles for its 2021 Editors' Choice Edition. They narrowed the selections to 96 vehicles in 32 different market segments. Car and Driver is one of the most respected publications in the automotive arena. Car and Driver’s Editors' Choice list is a coveted recommendation for any vehicle.
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX has been one of the most anticipated vehicles ever. It was first shown as a concept truck in 2016. After the concept vehicle created a huge response, Ram set out to build a truck that would outperform its competitors. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX gets its 702-horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 that produces 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The TRX’s frame uses high-strength steel to improve durability and stability both on and off-road. The HEMI V-8 is mated to an eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission.
Other 2021 Ram TRX Accolades
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was also recently voted Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year. When the honor was announced, TorqueNews Managing Editor Patrick Rall wrote “The Ram 1500 TRX is the greatest off-road performance truck ever and this morning, it was named the best truck of 2021 by Motor Trend. To claim the 2021 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, the TRX beat seven other popular pickups to claim the title, but to anyone who has been fortunate enough to drive the Hellcat-powered Ram, this comes as no surprise. It might be a niche model, but it is incredible on the road and off, making it a deserving winner of this prized title.”
The Ram TRX was also recently named FOUR WHEELER 2021 Pickup of the Year for its off-roading prowess. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is clocked at doing 0-60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds, the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph and a top speed 118 mph. The TRX is the quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced half-ton pickup truck in the world.
