We finally have gotten to see the all-new 2024 GMC HUMMER EV SUV. GMC finally showed the entire vehicle in an ad, voiced by Lebron James, during this weekend’s NCAA Final Four play-offs. According to the ad, GMC is growing its supertruck EV line up “Because to achieve greatness once is not the end of the journey, it is only the beginning”. GMC also opened reservations for the SUV, which will go into production in early 2023.
“The GMC HUMMER EVs were envisioned to be the most capable and compelling electric supertrucks ever,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC. “The new HUMMER EV SUV is the next chapter, which will offer many options for customers to tailor the truck to their lifestyles, while continuing to encourage them to forge new paths with zero emissions.”
The 2024 GMC HUMMER EV SUV
Similar to the 2022 GMC HUMMER EV, the SUV will debut will a special launch Edition 1. That first group will also be priced similar to the HUMMER supertruck. The 2024 GMC HUMMER EV SUV Edition 1 will have a starting price of $105,595. If it is equipped with the Extreme Off-Road package, it will start at $110,595. Several other editions will be released in phases. The truck version debuted at $112,595.
The HUMMER EV SUV will also be built on GM’s new Ultium battery platform, that is designed to power several different sizes of vehicles. The first Ultium powered vehicle is expected to be the GMC HUMMER EV truck. GM estimates the SUV version will have 830 horsepower and up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque. GMC says the Edition 1 should have a range of over 300 miles. GMC says that is enough power for super-fast 0-60-mph sprints in approximately 3.5 seconds. The new HUMMER EV SUV has an interior layout that seats five, just like the pickup truck version. It will also have the ability to crabwalk just like the HUMMER EV truck.
The HUMMER EV SUV will also have the Infinity Roof with the removable roof panels, just like the HUMMER truck. It will be equipped with an enhanced version of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. Super Cruise is said to work better than Tesla’s auto-pilot system and has a much better track record when it comes to preventing accidents. Super Cruise does require the driver to stay engaged.

Both the truck and SUV versions of the HUMMER EV are expected to be built at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant now renamed Factory Zero.
