Audi had another record-setting month in August as the automaker recorded its 80th consecutive month of record sales. Led by the Q7 crossover, the new Q5, and the A5 Sportback, Audi reported an increase of 2.8 percent with 19,811 deliveries. The previous record, set last August, was for 19,264 vehicles.
Through August, Audi has sold 141,606 vehicles for the year in the U.S.
“We are in the midst of our biggest product rollout in our U.S. history and consumers are responding to the designs, the technology and the brand’s reputation for dependability,” according to Cian O’Brien, the automaker’s chief operating officer.
According to Audi, deliveries of the new Q5 were up to 4,707. They have now risen a total of 11 percent for the year. Sales of the Q7 rose 35 percent over last August to 3,174. For the year to date, sales of Q7 are up a total of 20 percent. In total, sales of Audi SUVs were up to 70,705 for a 12 percent increase through August.
Total deliveries of the new A5 coupe, Sportback, and Cabrio, more than tripled to 2,603 vehicles. These sales included 1,325 sales of the Sportback, which is new to the United States.
