Over the course of the 2019 and 2020 model years, the Dodge brand has offered the Power Dollars program to discount Charger, Challenger and Durango models by up to $8,070. The problem is based on the horsepower output and each horsepower leads to a discount of $10, so the 807-horsepower 2020 Challenger Super Stock carries a discount of $8,070. The 707-horsepower 2020 Charger Hellcat is discounted by $7,070 and the 475-horsepower Durango SRT 392 is discounted by $4,750.
The Dodge Power Dollars program was introduced during the 2019 model year and it led to massive sales across the board. Earlier this year, the Power Dollars program was extended to the 2020 model year Challenger, Charger and Durango. With the 2021 model year Dodge products coming to market, many prospective buyers asked if the new model year would benefit from the Power Dollars discount. Unfortunately, there has been no word on the return of the Power Dollars program for 2021 – until today.
Early this morning, Dodge announced that there is a special Black Friday edition of the Power Dollars program, applying specifically to the refreshed 2021 Durango. However, this special offering of the Power Dollars program differs from the program for the 2019 and 2020 model year vehicles. This portion of the discount program is only offered for four days following Thanksgiving and it doesn’t apply to the entire 2021 Durango lineup, excluding the new 710-horsepower Hellcat model.
"If you dance when you're the only one who can hear the music, does that make you crazy? I guess it depends on whether or not you're a member of the Brotherhood of Muscle," said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. "Because when you're a member of the Brotherhood and you hear that Dodge is offering its record-breaking Power Dollars on the 2021 Dodge Durango just now arriving in dealerships, you don't see crazy, you hear music, but only for four days. Is it crazy, even for Dodge? Maybe, but if you're not first, you're last."
Black Friday Dodge Durango Power Dollars
This new Power Dollars program begins on November 27th and continues through November 30th, so it starts on Black Friday and ends on Cyber Monday. It applies specifically to the 2021 Durango – not the 2021 Challenger and Charger. This also doesn’t apply to the limited production 2021 Durango Hellcat, but those folks who want to buy one of the other refreshed 2021 Durango models can save thousands of dollars during the first official weekend of the Christmas shopping season.
The entry level 2021 Dodge Durango is the SXT with 293 horsepower while the SXT Plus offers 295 horsepower. Under this short term Power Dollars program, buyers of those models would save $2,930 and $2,950. Also, the GT, GT Plus and Citadel with the 3.6-liter, 295-horsepower V6 all benefit from a $2,950 discount.
If you opt for the 2021 Durango R/T or the Citadel with the 5.7-liter Hemi, each of which packs 360 horsepower, you can expect to save $3,600 while the 475-horsepower Durango SRT 392 carries a four-day discount of $4,750.
Again, the Durango Hellcat, which is only slated for limited production for the 2021 model year, is not included in this Power Dollars program. We imagine that the Hellcat models are selling well enough that Dodge doesn’t need to offer any discounts.
2020 Power Dollars
While there are some stipulations for this newly announced Black Friday Power Dollars program for the 2021 Durango, the Power Dollars program for the 2020 model year vehicles continues on unchanged. This still applies to all 2020 Challenger, Charger and Durango models, from the base V6 models to the Hellcat Charger and the Challenger Super Stock. Of course, the trick in benefiting from the 2020 Power Dollars program is to find the vehicle that you want in dealership stock, but with some careful shopping, you can still save big money on a high performance Dodge product.
