The C7 Chevrolet Corvette is an incredible machine, offering levels of performance which allow it to beat far more expensive sports cars, but to the average Joe, the Corvette is a fairly expensive vehicle.
The “base model” 2017 Corvette Stingray coupe starts at $55,450, the Grand Sport coupe starts at $65,450 and the Z06 coupe starts at $79,450 – with the convertible version of each package starting $4,000 higher. When you begin moving to premium trim lines and adding options, the price of each Corvette quickly rises, with the Stingray climbing into the $80k range, the Grand Sport climbing into the $90k range and the Z06 tops out around $120,000.
Again, the Stingray, Grand Sport and Z06 will all outperform plenty of far more expensive European exotics, but as American cars go – the Corvette is pretty pricey.
Fortunately, during the month of May, Corvette buyers can save 10% on any 2017 model, meaning that those folks who buy a loaded Z06 this month could easily save upwards of $12,000.
10% May Corvette Discount
General Motors hasn’t made an official statement about this 10% Corvette discount in May, but a variety of websites have reported it and more importantly, a quick internet search reveals that this deal is being advertised on more than a few Chevrolet dealership websites.
The dealership websites simply state that you can save 10% on a 2017 Corvette in May and the details are limited to just that, but the folks at CarsDirect are reporting that this discount applies to all 2017 Corvettes – from the Stingray to the Z06.
This means that someone buying a 2017 Corvette Stingray 1LT ($56,445 MSRP) would stand to save around $5,600 while someone buying a 2017 Z06 would stand to save between $8,000 and $12,000 depending on the length of the option list. The Z06 has lots of options and packages which can quickly lift the MSRP from around $80,000 to around $120,000, but both of those prices are reduced by 10% during the month of May.
So, if you have been eagerly awaiting a great deal on a new Corvette, now is your time to act. The 2018 models are right around the corner and with very few changes, there is really no reason to wait for the new model year Stingray, Grand Sport or Z06, but your time is running out. May is already a third gone, so if you want to save $5,600-$12,000 on a 2017 Corvette, you will want to visit your local Chevy dealership as soon as possible.
Finally, I should point out that this 10% discount off of the MSRP from General Motors may be applicable with other, regional discounts and with some clever haggling, you might be able to get even more trimmed from the price, so there might not be a better time to buy a new Corvette than this month.
