Aptera’s Latest Update Doesn’t Mention Any 2024 Deliveries

In a new update, a timeline seems to have slipped a bit for one upstart EV maker.

A new press release from Aptera this past month reminds potential investors that the window is closing to get in on the latest round of funding. What the press release didn’t include is any mention of deliveries of customer vehicles in 2024.

Aptera has been employing a form of crowdfunding to help kick off its production. The company says that its efforts have helped to pave the way for the company to “...engage with US Capital to secure funding for the production of its Launch Edition vehicles.” From this statement, it would seem as if the company is still not in production but rather compiling resources to do so later. “The response to our Regulation A offering has been overwhelming, and we are grateful for the support of over 17,000 investors who share our passion for clean, efficient transportation,” said Chris Anthony, CEO of Aptera Motors. “Their investments have been instrumental in propelling Aptera towards production readiness.”

So when will consumers see Aptera vehicles for the first time? The press release only says that “Aptera aims to bring its innovative vehicles to market at scale in 2025.” In a separate release, the company said that it would build and deliver a “‘Union (or Etihad) Edition’ Aptera for exclusive delivery to the UAE in 2026.” This is a very tight timeline for a company that says its goal is to "Produce one million solar electric vehicles by 2030."

“We are excited to partner with US Capital as we enter this crucial phase of production funding,” stated Chris Anthony. “Their expertise and support will enable us to realize our vision of delivering solar electric vehicles that redefine the future of transportation.”

Aptera is planning to build a smaller-than-subcompact two-seat hatchback electric vehicle. The vehicle is intended to charge primarily from solar panels covering its exterior. The vehicle will have three wheels, outrigger-style front wheels and suspension, and doors that open up, being hinged at the top front.

If you would like to participate in Aptera's crowdfunding program, we understand that the minimum investment is $1,000 and you need to take action prior to the end of this month. (This section was corrected, Thanks, Robert)

John Goreham: These statements are incorrect or misleading. Better to first investigate your sources before making commentary.
1: ‘’’ What the press release didn’t include is any mention of deliveries of customer vehicles in 2024.’’’ For 6 months now Aptera management has during its open shared communication made it clear that except for Gamma & Delta prototypes. There will be no customer builds or deliveries.. So yes , they may not have shared that deliveries won’t be in 2024…But they need not mention something that is so well documented and understood.

2: ‘’’ understand that the minimum investment is $27,000 and you need to take action prior to the end of this month.’’’
Again incorrect: actually yesterday I personally purchased 200 shares at $10.50 a share through their special securities company;
