What is the most reliable Subaru vehicle? According to a new report from iSeeCars, the 2022 Subaru Outback is the most reliable new model, and the Outback is the most reliable used Subaru model. The latest list comes from an analysis of 1.8 million vehicles to see which SUVs are most likely to exceed 200,000 miles.
The 2022 Subaru Outback has just arrived and is one of the most reliable SUVs on the compact SUV list, even though the Outback is considered a midsize SUV. iSeeCars also ranks the Subaru Outback number one on its "Which small and compact SUVs is the best list." The rankings are based on a data-driven analysis of each vehicle's reliability, resale value, and safety.
"While the vehicle is technically classified as a wagon, the Subaru Outback offers standard all-wheel drive and provides cargo space typical of a compact SUV, and it's a dependable hauler for those who want the perks of an SUV with the driving dynamics of a car," says iSeeCars analyst Julie Blackley.
What is the price of the 2022 Subaru Outback?
The 2022 Outback comes in eight trim levels; the base trim is priced from $27,845, Premium ($30,270), Limited ($34,720), Touring ($38,620), Onyx Edition XT ($36,270), new for 2022, Outback Wilderness ($38,120), Limited XT ($39,120), and Touring XT ($41,070). Pricing includes $1,125 destination and delivery fees.
A three-year-old used Subaru Outback costs between $18,908 and $28,998, according to iSeeCars data.

The most reliable SUVs list starts with the most reliable large SUVs; Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Sequoia, Chevy Suburban, Ford Expedition, Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and Nissan Armada.
The most reliable midsize SUVs are the Toyota 4Runner, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Dodge Durango, and Hyundai Santa Fe. The most reliable compact SUVs are the Honda CR-V, Jeep Wrangler, and Subaru Outback.

If you cannot buy a new model now, which is the best year if you shop for a previously owned Subaru Outback? Consumer Reports ranked the most reliable three-year-old midsize SUVs, and the 2018 Subaru Outback scores one of the eight best used SUV choices.
In addition to the 2018 Subaru Outback, the other seven models Consumer Reports ranks high are, listed alphabetically, the 2018 Ford Edge, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Murano, and Toyota Highlander.
