One Subaru SUV made the fifteen ugliest cars ever made list, and you might even own one. A recent report from iSeeCars says the Subaru Tribeca midsize SUV has ugly styling they would like to forget.
iSeeCars says, "The Subaru Tribeca was the automaker's first seven-seat SUV on the market from 2005-2014. It had an ugly facade with a round exterior and a narrow rectangular grille that appeared visually unbalanced. Looks aside, the Tribeca also suffered from poor reliability ratings and a sub-par interior."
What are the fifteen ugliest cars?
iSeeCars says the ugliest cars ever ( in alphabetical order) are the AMC Gremlin, AMC Marlin, AMC Pacer, Aston Martin Lagonda, Cadillac Cimarron, Chevrolet Lumina, Chrysler Crossfire, Ford Edsel, Ford Pinto, Nissan Juke, Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, Plymouth Valiant, Pontiac Aztek, Subaru Tribeca, Toyota Previa, and lastly the Toyota Prius.
Many Subaru Tribeca SUVs are still on the road today, and you might still be driving one. However, Subaru discontinued the slow-selling Tribeca for various reasons.
Subaru had problems with the Tribeca SUV, and they fixed it. They axed the vehicle and started over. Tribeca had cramped third-row seating, limited cargo capacity, an aging design, poor fuel mileage, and could only tow up to 2000 lbs.
The discontinued Tribeca SUV was powered by a 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that was aging and got an EPA-estimated 16/21 city/highway mpg and 18 combined mpg.
The Japanese automaker couldn't compete in the competitive 3-Row segment with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Nissan Pathfinder, Mitsubishi Outlander, Toyota Highlander, and Honda Pilot. However, the all-new Ascent 3-Row family hauler addressed Tribeca's five problems.
The new Ascent gets Subaru's new FA24 Boxer powerplant with the latest direct injection and other internal upgrades for the best power, towing, and fuel efficiency.
Subaru addressed five problems they had with the aging Tribeca. As a result, the Subaru Ascent checks five boxes that the discontinued Tribeca did not. First, the Ascent has favorable styling, where the Tribeca is now counted among the fifteen ugliest cars ever made.
