Subaru Canada announced they will also be getting the new Type RA (“Record Attempt”) model that U.S. performance enthusiasts will be getting. The higher-performance STI-enhanced model will also make its dealer launch in early 2018.
The WRX STI Type RA Special track model will be on display at the Good Festival of Speed for fans to see July 1-2, before it heads off to Germany for the record attempt at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The special STI will be driven by rally and stunt driver Mark Higgins.
Driving enthusiasts in Canada will be also be getting the 2018 BRZ tS designed specifically for “higher performance” by Subaru Tecnica International (STI). U.S. models will be limited to 500 examples. Subaru Canada did not reveal how many of the WRX STI Type RA or BRZ tS special limited edition models will be making their way to Canadian showrooms.
The Canadian 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA and BRZ tS limited edition models will have the same specs as U.S. models. The Type RA gets a small bump in horsepower (310hp) and other suspension upgrades. Both the 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA and Subaru BRZ tS will be available in WR Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, and Crystal White Pearl exterior colors. Exact numbers of the limited edition WRX STI Type RA and BRZ tS and pricing will be announced later this year.
