Canadian Rally Drivers Antoine L'Estage and 25 year old Brandon Semenuk have some fun in the dirt with the new 2016 WRX STI and BRZ Hikari Editions. They take the cars to a remote logging camp somewhere in Canada and put the two Subarus to a good test in the dirt and mud. Semenuk likes the rear drive BRZ and says, “It’s just a smoke show.” L'Estage powered the STI through the mud in the logging camp and says “it’s a beast.”
They are the new 2016 Subaru WRX STI and BRZ 光 Hikari Editions available for the Canadian market. Both are exclusive and available in limited quantities of 100 BRZs and 200 WRX STIs. They follow in the tradition of Subaru Canada’s naming theme for special edition vehicles based on Japanese names that Subaru says best represents the vehicle. 光 Hikari Edition means “light” or “beam of light” which is said to pay homage to these performance-oriented vehicle’s “speed, performance and precision.”
It’s a good location for L'Estage and Semenuk to have some fun as they take the two special edition models out for a thorough test in the Canadian dirt and mud. It’s similar to the rally stages the pair are familiar with.
Subaru introduced the two special editions earlier this year in Canada. The 光 Hikari Edition WRX STI and BRZ limited editions are pronounced “he-ka-ree” and feature black painted exterior trim accents, black wheels and blue interior seating and trim enhancements. Check out Antoine L'Estage and Brandon Semenuk as they get the 2016 Subaru WRX STI and BRZ Hikari Editions dirty in Canada.
