What brought this to mind is a recent Scotty Kilmer YouTube channel episode where Scotty discusses why if you have a hankering for an older Dodge Challenger that you will be better off buying a used V6 model with around 300 horsepower over a 500-plus horsepower V8 model. In short, it’s because the bigger engine is what gets the motor running for the “I gotta have my V8” car owner who more likely than not will be pushing his car to the limits (often) because, well…it’s part of the fun of owning a muscle car (aside from coming out on the winning side of a car-on-car impact).
In other words, many V8 owners have a tendency to drive the excrement out of their vehicles.

In addition, find out the other reasons why buying a V6 over a V8 makes better economical sense and why you have to take into consideration that your tire costs are going to be significantly higher with a higher horsepower engine than you might have been used to with your previous vehicles.
