Tony Abdalla, a police sergeant for the South Pasadena Police Department, running their detective bureau. He is also the EV project lead for his transition project for South Pasadena.

Their existing fleet of police vehicles were getting old, and they needed a solution to replace their existing fleet all at once.

They were looking for an option, and they found that the Tesla Model Y was their absolute best option. Not just viable, but their best option. The car is sustainable in energy and is much better performing with a much lower cost to maintain and fuel.

South Pasadena is very environmentally conscious and Tesla fits that culture very well. The cars are durable. In the first year, there was no maintenance for their cars.

The biggest cost savings was the cost of energy, which was way less than the cost of a gallon of gas. They were asked why they were paying so much for their cars by the community and responded showing that the 10-year cost of ownership is simply way much less with a Tesla vehicle.

Officer Safety Is At the Top of the List

The Model Y is one of the safest cars ever made with the most advanced technology. There was a pursuit in the rain that was happening and in the old cars, that officer would have stopped the pursuit.

In the Model Y, the officer felt comfortable continuing the high speed chase in the rain due to the comfort, handling, performance, and safety of the Model Y. Tony feels like his officers are in one of the safest cars period.

How long does it take to charge the Model Y? The range is almost identical to the old cars in service. They can get another 200 miles of range in about 15 minutes at a fast charger.

They have also partnered with Unplugged Performance for tires and add-ons to the vehicles. Furthermore, they have the most advanced, safe, durable, and sustainable police force in the entire United States.

Tony says to see for yourself why the Model Y and Tesla vehicles are the safest, highest performing, and lowest total cost of ownership police vehicles on the market.
