In the shadows of Lucid Motors, a "covert" operation has been unfolding, masterminded by the brilliant CEO and CTO, Peter Rawlinson.

The veil of secrecy has finally lifted, exposing a "clandestine" endeavor at Lucid Motors marked by innovation and British engineering excellence.

For years, curious onlookers could only speculate as trucks laden with wrapped cars navigated in and out of the facility, leaving the public in the dark about Lucid's kind-of-secret activities.

The car that has amassed a plethora of awards and honors, starting with the groundbreaking Motor Trend Car of the Year Award in 2021, has become an enigma. Lucid's Air sedan, the inaugural model, achieved the unprecedented feat of winning this prestigious award straight off the design and production line, a first in automotive history. The accolades kept pouring in, with the most recent being the 2023 World Luxury Car Award, marking Lucid as the first American-made car company to secure this international recognition.

Only rivaled by the Mercedes S class in terms of multiple prestigious awards, Lucid's achievements are rewriting the narrative of automotive excellence.

As Lusic'd manufacturing facility's curtains remained dropped, Peter Rawlinson maintained an eerie silence, leaving enthusiasts and industry observers puzzled.

Rumors swirled about another impossible mission, with speculation rife about the next groundbreaking project. Fast forward to January 2024, and the doors of AMP1 Casa Grande swung open, drawing enthusiasts from all corners of the country eager to satiate their curiosity.

Then Lucid Motors could no longer keep the secret, revealing that it had invested a significant effort in building this colossal 3.8 million square feet factory, achieving 75% of the planned 5.1 million square feet.

This sprawling facility is set to be the birthplace of the highly anticipated Lucid Gravity, an SUV with the potential to outshine the award-winning Air Sedan.

Rawlinson divulged that the Lucid Gravity would boast superior technology compared to its sedan counterpart. With SUV DNA and a performance engine reminiscent of a "Lambo" concealed beneath, the Gravity is poised to dominate SUV and electric vehicle awards.

In a surprising revelation, Rawlinson disclosed plans for additional models, emphasizing competitive pricing to capture both the luxury and mainstream markets. Moreover, he hinted at manufacturing powertrains for the vehicles like the Aston Martin, adding more fuel to the intrigue. By the way, here's why a link-up between a storied British marque Aston Martin and a cutting-edge American brand Lucid Motors may be on the cards.

As abruptly as the revelations came, Rawlinson "vanished: again (humor), and the doors closed once again, leaving enthusiasts and the automotive world in awe and anticipation. The story of Lucid Motors continues, with each secret unveiled propelling the company further into the realms of innovation and success.

By the way, a friend of mine created the above imaginary picture of Peter Rawlinson posing as James Bond.

Why not add Rolls Royce, Range Rover and Jaguar to the Lucid Motors licensing agreements. I can see an opulent tri-motor or quad-motor Phantom or Ghost.
