Ram and all Ram owners have another award to celebrate. A company that studies vehicle sales finds that the 2019 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 have the highest buyer loyalty in the pickup segment for 2019. That means that Ram owners like their vehicles so much that when they go to buy a new vehicle they choose to buy another Ram.
The Automotive Loyalty Awards by IHS Markit are reportedly based on an analysis of nearly 17.5 million new vehicle registrations during the 2019 calendar year. Loyalty is determined by IHS Markit when a household that owns a new vehicle returns to market and purchases or leases another new vehicle of the same make, model or manufacturer.
The IHS Markit Loyalty Awards
Fiat-Chrysler had three winners in the IHS Markit Awards. The Chrysler Pacifica had the highest loyalty in the van segment for 2019. The Jeep Grand Cherokee took home the loyalty honors in the SUV segment.
This is the 24th year that IHS Markit has conducted its studies and recognized manufacturers for retaining customers.
“Congratulations to FCA for their efforts on customer retention for these models,” said Joe LaFeir, senior vice president and general manager, automotive, at IHS Markit. “We honor their commitment and focus on this important strategy in this truly competitive environment.”
Brand loyalty is a huge factor in the automotive industry. It used to be that people were raised in a “Chrysler family” or a “Ford or Chevy family”. Now the market segments are so fractured that not as many buyers are as loyal. Often, now, decisions are based on price and style, with not as much emphasis based on the auto company.
IHS Markit studies brand loyalty and works with its customers on how to get and keep customers. The company looks at outside factors and trends and makes recommendations to automakers on how to keep customers over the long run.
The Ram 1500
The Ram 1500 has won a number of awards for both its exterior design and its luxury interior. Ram has been praised for its technological improvements including its Uconnect 4C that features a 12” touchscreen, making it easier for the driver to use the phone, navigation and infotainment system. Ram also has twice the amount of interior storage compared to other brand pickups. That makes is easier for drivers to store tools, sports equipment and carry cargo.
Ram also has loaded the pickups with its latest safety technology and made various powertrain options available across the trim line up. Ram offers both V-6 and V-8 options as well as the well-known HEMI. The Ram 1500 has up to 12,750 pounds of towing capability and 2,300 pounds of payload. The result is that Ram buyers are able to buy exactly the pickup they want with all of the bells and whistles they want.
The Chrysler Pacifica
The Chrysler Pacifica is an extraordinary vehicle that truly offers virtually everything that a family could want. It offers versatility, allowing owners to choose the layout of the interior. It has Stow ‘n Go seating and additional floor storage that makes it the perfect family vehicle. Chrysler adds to that a variety of powertrains including a hybrid option. It has 116 available safety options and the ability to be AWD. It is no wonder that it is the most awarded minivan four years in a row.
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV ever. There is a reason you see so many on the roads as they can handle just about anything. It is the SUV that lead the way going off road. The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers great towing and a variety of models. The Trackhawk is said to be the most powerful SUV ever with 707 horsepower straight from the factory.
