Up until very recently, GMC’s promotional machine has been focused on the 2022 GMC HUMMER EV pickup. GMC’s social media has featured Lebron James touting the huge HUMMER EV eTrunk and the truck’s ability to crabwalk. A recent tweet, however, shows the GMC HUMMER EV SUV out in the wild and directs fans to its joint EV truck and SUV information page.
GMC HUMMER EV SUV Availability
It appears that GMC will have the SUV Edition 1 version available early in 2023, for the people who are currently on the waitlist. Some other EV SUVs will be available later in 2023. According to the GMC website, it appears both the truck and SUV will have a 12.3” diagonal color driver display, as well as a 13.4” diagonal center touchscreen that will be customizable. It will also be easy for the driver to reach and program. The 2024 GMC HUMMER EV SUV Edition 1 will have a starting price of $105,595. If it is equipped with the Extreme Off-Road package, it will start at $110,595. Several other editions will be released in phases. The truck version debuted at $112,595.
The SUV will have a huge eTrunk, which is described as being large enough to store the glass sky panels inside. Plus, the SUV will have a large cargo space in the back. The rear seats can fold flat. The cargo floor can be lifted up to open hidden cargo space underneath. That area is described as large enough to hold the Dual Level Charge Cord as well as the I-Bar for the glass roof. There is also a large storage compartment in the driver’s side rear quarter panel, as well as a 110-volt power outlet.
HUMMER EV SUV Crabwalk Ability
Perhaps the most fascinating feature on the new HUMMER EV truck and SUV is the ability to crabwalk. Both of the new HUMMER vehicles will have the ability to travel on an angle at very low speeds. The four-wheel steering will be an additional option but is expected to be a popular option.
Extract Mode
Just like the HUMMER EV truck, the EV SUV will have the available Extract mode. The suspension will be able to raise the vehicle as much as 6 inches to get around obstacles like boulders. Again, it will be an additional option, but it is expected to be popular. The SUV will ride on specially-engineered 35” tires.
Crazy Camera Views
The HUMMER EV SUV will have up to 17 available cameras including HD Surround Vision, with the option known as UltraVision. There will be waterproof underbody forward-and-rear-facing cameras for real-time views of the terrain to help you pick the best line along the trail. There will also be a function that lets you wash the cameras, and the cameras will have lenses that you can replace if they get damaged.

Tesla will deliver almost 2

Tesla will deliver almost 2 MILLION EV's in 2022 alone, and GM can't deliver a single Hummer before early 2023. Or Silverado EV. Or much of ANYTHING.
Why is anyone even caring about the Hummer? It'll do well but only if it ever gets to the street. Which isn't before .... 2023.
Must be a slow slow EV Day for all the Big 3. Nothing to deliver, talk only.

GM is definitely behind Tesla... but who isn't? To be fair, it's not accurate that GM can't deliver a single Hummer in 2023. The SUV version will start early 23 but GM is busy building and delivering the "Truck" version... which already started being delivered end of last year. Plus GM just started producing another EV, Cadillac Lylriq recently. All in all, GM has a goal of building 45k plus EVs in 2022. That's nothing compared to 2m that Tesla will build but importance is, it's not just the talk. Ford is also very busy producing F150 lightening in volume as we speak.
