Jeep executives have promised for years that the Gladiator would eventually get the 4xe powertrain that is so popular in the Jeep Wrangler. Now we know when the Gladiator 4xe will be available and the word came down from the CEO of the Jeep brand! Antonio Filosa posted the news about the 2025 Jeep Gladiator 4xe on his LinkedIn page.
“Next year, we’ll extend that freedom of choice even further with a Gladiator 4xe option (colors to be announced) that will join the No. 1 and No. 2 best-selling plug-in hybrids in the U.S, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.”
Jeep fans, like Lars M. who owns a concrete company, are thrilled to hear that the 4xe version is coming. “I have been needing this gladiator 4xe since 2019 and am glad it is being done ...My son wants to get one as well!”
The new 4xe powertrain will be available on the 2025 Gladiator models. For now, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator has a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2024 Jeep Gladiator delivers great towing ability with 4x4 max towing of up to 7,700 pounds and best-in-class payload of up to 1,725 pounds.
Jeep Gladiator Gets Major Improvements
New in 2024, the Jeep Gladiator got a number of major improvements to guarantee that it maintained its great reputation for off-roading. As I reported earlier, new for 2024, Jeep added two new Gladiator trim levels. The Mojave X and Rubicon X, expand Gladiator’s lineup with integrated off-road cameras, steel bumpers and leather-trimmed 12-way power adjustable front seats. Gladiator offers a folding windshield, three different roof choices and three door choices, including available half doors and removable doors.
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator has standard first- and second-row side-curtain airbags, standard forward collision warning (Sport S and above) and standard advanced cruise control with stop (Sport S and above).
Not only does the Gladiator have an all-new instrument panel with best-in-class standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, but the Uconnect 5 navigation system comes preloaded with Jeep Adventure Guides featuring Trails Offroad. The maps include off-road trail guides for the 62 Jeep Badge of Honor trails. Buyers can purchase an upgraded subscription that unlocks 3,000-plus Trails Offroad trail guides.
New Tuscadero Pink Exterior Color
Filosa’s disclosure came in a post about the 2024 Jeep Gladiator getting a new pink exterior color that is popular on the Jeep Wrangler.
“One of the great many things I love about the Jeep community is how free they are with sharing feedback. They gave us such a great reaction to the Jeep Wrangler Tuscadero that we thought…if one open-air Jeep model in pink is great…two must be better! Introducing the world’s only open-air pink pickup truck, the Jeep Gladiator. Now available in Tuscadero for the first time ever.”
“Our passionate Jeep fans asked for this limited-run color on Gladiator. We heard them,” said Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand – North America. "Now Gladiator is both the only pickup to deliver open air freedom and the only pickup available in Tuscadero.”
Some 30,000 customers placed orders for Tuscadero when it debuted in 2021 on Wrangler, making it an all-star in the lineup of vivid, limited-edition colors, including Gobi, Gecko, Chief and Nacho, that add customization and appeal to Jeep brand vehicles from the factory. Tuscadero debuted on the new 2024 Jeep Wrangler last month and will arrive in dealerships this summer.
The eye-catching Tuscadero pink is available to order now through the end of the 2024 model year at a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $895 on Gladiator Sport, Mojave and Rubicon. It will be available on additional trims later this quarter and arrives in showrooms this summer.
