For the seventh time this year, Porsche has announced record sales. July sales were up 0.8 percent over 2017. The automaker delivered 5,102 vehicles in September. For the first nine months, sales were up 3.4 percent, compared to the same period last year. Total deliveries were 42,626.
Two Lines Led The Increase
Two model lines drove the sales increase, the restyled Cayenne and the iconic 911, the model most people associate with Porche. The new generation Cayenne, which arrived in showrooms not too long ago, boosted sales by 26.9 percent. And, in a market that has forgotten cars still exist, the other big driver was the iconic Porsche 911. The sporty two-seater with its iconic lines still draws customers. It increased by 37.8 percent.
For September, the automaker announced sales of 5,102 vehicles. This was 0.8 percent higher than last year. For the first nine months of 2018, sales were up 3.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2017. Total sales for the first nine months of the year were 42,626 vehicles.
Klaus Zellmer, president, and CEO of Porsche Cars of North America (PCNA) said “the new 2019 Cayenne is an exciting addition to the Porsche product range that continues to fascinate people. Our sales for the first three quarters of this year are a powerful testament to the quality and customer experience we offer.”
